One More NVC question

My NOA2 was issued on May 4th and the petition was sent to the NVC a couple of days later. After hearing nothing for a couple of weeks I decided to call the NVC on May 22 and they told me they had just received my petition.

Should I be receiving some sort of notice? My new case number perhaps? I have email notification as well as snail mail and my online case status still has May 6th as the most recent date.

They should have given you your new case number when they told you they recieved the petition. I'd call back and get it. Also the USC will recieve a notice via snail mail around the time the petition is forwarded to the embassy. Hope this helps. Good luck!

thank you. I was going to phone back today or tomorrow but I wasn't quite sure whether or not I should have received my new case number.
