considering redoing the bathroom from lavender and yellow duckies to black and gray and white???? is that to contemporary hardly MENA though... thoughts!!!???? It's only going to be 9 days until he's here! and my bedroom hasn't been touched!

runs around in a circle arms flailing

do i wait to do the bedroom or do it before he's here?????? suggestions

I'd be tempted to put some nice candles and flowers and maybe some new sheets in the bedroom, and then wait to decorate it together once he's here. That would be a fun "getting-to-know-each-other-again" project for the two of you in the room you will share the most, and you don't want to be worn out by the time he arrives. :)

ok I have to agree it will be fun.... I recall what he is like to shop with in morocco this should be interesting here

Our first trip to Wal-Mart lasted two hours. Be prepared to convert everything to "Morocco time," especially in the beginning. You're going to have great fun. :)

I want to share with you that my husband is a decorating freak. I told him he reminds me of some kind of gay man on a television show because most guys could give a hoot less about these things. He asked me to wait until he gets home to buy curtains or send him some pictures of them so that he can see if he likes them. I thought whattttttttt??????? I have never had this happen before where a man likes to decorate as much as a woman. Once I get some more things going I will post some pictures. Our bedroom looks awful....its a pretty dark blue called chinese porcelain but it needs lightened with pictures and stuff. I thought some pretty white curtains with dark blue ribbons would be cute for tie backs.

I understand the walmart thing...do you guys have a Hobby Lobby? My husband can stay in there for hours just looking at everything...he's such a diva...lol! He would die if he knew that I shared that with you. He can be a manly man but has this tact for color and selecting pictures that look awesome with just enough texture and color to them.

Kamal has a pretty keen eye for decorating too! Sometimes he hangs things a bit too high. but otherwise he's done pretty good in the house and outside too.

I'm thinking when we get a house in a few years (inshaAllah) that I'd like to decorate it in a modern style. The only problem is I have too many nicknacks and chachkis. I suppose in a house, they could be spread out, but in a 1 bedroom apartment, they kind of take over, lol.

I've been reading the moderncat blog recently, and I just love how simple and clean everything looks. We have cheapo scandinavian furniture already (ikea), and I figure we could collect good, higher quality pieces over the year and build the look.

This would be the neato, but for some reason, I think my husband wouldn't go along with it. Wonder why?

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

Rajaa...we went to Hobby Lobby the other day and they had fall decorations on sale for 90% off. My kitchen is in red and gold and I got some really pretty flowers for almost nothing that had some cute red, gold and orange in them. You may want to try there if you have one near you. We got a bunch of flowers that were normally 24.95 for the bunch for 2.50....great way to save.

Post pics when you get done. I will try and get some batteries in my camera and post some of our kitchen. We are without pictures on the walls right now but still you can see how we blended the colors in with the table decorations and such.

Tasha your husband is so funny! Usama doesn't have an eye for colors or style (we now have TWO empty kitty litter containers in our bedroom as our trash buckets), BUT if I were to decorate the bedroom he'd definitely want to go with me and give input, however much it may be appreciated and then ignored  , just to have a say in it I think.

He really is funny about the house and the deco. I wanted so bad to put a mirror in my living room and he said honey, our living room is so little and it just isn't posh! LOL! Posh, where did he learn that word.???
