Well, I just spoke with VSC. Back to square 1. The woman told me that mine is just past the 6 months date (2 weeks ago actually is when it was) and she said that "we have had a big backlog...blah blah blah..." and I said "I know... have known that for many months now". At any rate, she said all she can tell me is to keep checking the status online, and wait 30 days and then call and they will investigate.

I asked her at what point they are at in processing, and she said "that I wouldnt know". Ha! Likely story. I asked if it would help to get my congressman involved, and she said "you can do that if you like". I am sure that it doesnt make any differnece to them. I mean, I bet there is no one who can light a fire under their butts... right?

I am sick and tired of this... I asked why CSC turns them out right and left, and VSC seems at a standstill? She never answered me... Sigh...

I feel sick...

The woman at the VSC said she doesnt know where the woman got that date "April 23" that she said they currently are processing when I called yesterday. Doesnt seem to me that anyone working there knows much of what goes on there. Seems like they would train these people to know... I mean, jeezzzz, how hard would it be to know some general answers?? It must only require a 6th grade education to get a job there.

Brian, in all honesty, I think they are encouraged to give BS and somewhat misleading answers up there, because they have no accountability to anyone. They are basically just trying to get people off the phone as quickly as possible. That's why I have now learned somewhat of the hard way that you have to take anything they say up there with a grain of salt. Like I said yesterday, I think, from all of the information I have seen, their K3 processing time right now is somewhere between 7 and 8 months. I think their 6 month report is BS, if you read closely at how that estimate is calculated, it's not based solely on completed applications, there is an estimation formula involved to get at that #.

Some people will be approved at 6 months, or sooner, but I think many of us who have already passed six are going to be stuck waiting another 45 to 60 days. I hate it, but I'm fed up with listening to the non-verfiable garbage that they spew up at USCIS, and all of the excited and desparate people they regularly disappoint with their unreliable information.

Hi. In reading this thread I noticed some people have dates that thier I129F was "touched". What does touch mean and how do you know it happened? I have a NOA1 letter with a Sep 4th 2008 date. Does anyone know what I can expect on waiting times?

I129F receipt date is (03/11/08).

Current processing time for I129F is 6 months.

This means that they should have completed applicants prior to last six months.

That means they should have completed all applicants before April 19.

I called them today October 22nd and spoke to two ladies.

First lady:

Sir, you definitely fall outside of the processing time, but for some reason my computer is not letting me add an inquiry for outside of processing. Let me transfer to manager (second lady).

Second lady:

Sir, you have to give 30 day after those 6 months. I was like "madame 30 extra days would be March 19th and my receipt date march 11th"

She is like "well my computer is saying that you don't fall outside of processing time. Please call back in a month"

Honestly, I don't know what to do or what to tell time. I am a U.S. citizen. I filed for I130 for my wife too and the processing date for that is Feb. 26 and my receipt date is Feb. 14th. I am suppose to give 30 extra days which would be March 26th.

Well since Feb. 14th, there has been no activity on my I130 file.

And since March 11 there have being no activity on my I129F file.

It is amazing how people there can say you are not outside their processing times when you have an official receipt with a date printed on it!!!!!!!

I must have severe mental problems because I can't understand what is going on with them.

Well, yesterday my husband faxed a letter to senator Martinez (Florida). I hope he can do something about it. If at least he demonstrate any interest at all I'm going to feel a little better than I feel right now.

It seems like VSC have thrown the respect for us in the garbage.

I'm still waiting for both petitions and that's why I went to my congresswoman's office today.. I met with the liason who IMMEDIATELY got on the phone and called USCIS and was able to tell me that my 129F was just put into the queue for processing 2 days ago. I was like "uh, OK, wasn't that where it was anyway?" And she said "no, it's finally ready to go into someone's hands for adjudication in the next few weeks so be patient and wait"... I've heard many people so far say to be patient and wait and I'm getting tired of it. But, this might be something real... Has anyone received any good news from congress that panned out?

I really hope that both of you get your approvals soon. That would mean that other March filers are not too far away. But it takes them forever to process 1 week. The hopes were so high when the week started and now, its a different story. I have also contacted my congressman's office. Let's see what they have to see after they contact USCIS. I really hope that we see at least 5 approvals tomorrow so people can have a good weekend.

I have also contacted my congressman, haven't heard back from anyone yet. How long did it take for those who had contacted their representatives via mail/fax to get a response? I also have put in a inquiry with uscis since i am out of the processing time frame for the 129f, but they said it would take 30-45 days to hear back from vsc by email. What a bunch of. . . ..

I just answered this question somewhere else... A touch is simply an update at USCIS website. If you have registered there, you can check the date of the last update on your case. Most of the times it is nothing important (they are simply "touching" your papers somehow), but we like to know someone is actually looking at our papers. But when someone has been waiting for a long time, we start to believe that a touch may be an approval on the way. But everything we believe is based on hypothesis that we create according to the trends we see here on visajourney. USCIS gives us NO real information.
