VSC - New Processing times

I just called USCIS. No officer was available at VSC, but I did speak with a rep at the national number.

She told me that she sees that they are currently processing I-129F apps. for APRIL 23. Mine was submitted April 8th, and she said I am beyond the 6 month window. But I have to still wait 2 more weeks (15 days) before they can conduct an investigation. She told me that the individual service centers update their info bi-weekly, every 2 weeks, so, she said that they may have completed mine, just havent hit that 2 week update yet. She said I should give it the 15 days, then call back, at which time they can innitiate an investigation. She said hopefully I will hear something within that 15 day wait time. She said it has to be 30 days past due date to do anything, and I still have 15 days to go.

So there is hope...

B-B, I never said they had any effectiveness in getting someone approved, my point is they know the regulations (at least the decent ones do), which that other dude clearly does not.

And I know people who have been approved inside of the 3 month date, just by blind luck. USCIS has no obligation to follow up on your K3 status based on your I-130 NOA 1. It is based on your I-129F NOA 1. You are wrong on this opinion. This has been verified by USCIS staff, and my attorney, who was a former US immigration judge. If you do not believe me, call an immigration lawyer and ask them.

call an immigration attorney?????......LOL

Brian your situation is almost identical to mine (my I-129F NOA1 is 4/4. the I-130 is 3/28), and what you were told at VSC is REALLY similar to what they said to me late last week. Almost exactly the same. Good luck bro.

the people listed are active within the last 2 months on this forum.

anyone older that that was dropped off.

totally agree also with the previous post... :crying:

Yeah you're right but I know some of those people he has on list and who are still active, and are pushing 9-plus months. His list has deficiencies, without question, but I think his stuff is a more accurate gauge than any of the drivel USCIS is pushing. I have two weeks left until I can submit my inquiry request (at 7 months), and I have this sick feeling USCIS will change the dates again. I just do not trust anything they say up there anymore.

Guys, be careful what you believe coming out of VSC. I spoke with an agent there last Thursday (yes, at Vermont, not the national center), who told me they were working on April 2 for the I-129F K3. And then I called there again today when the processing dates changed on the national site, and the agent this time all but refused to talk to me, and to go back to the national 1-800 number.

If you look at that list that guy Igor has and continually updaes, he shows like 80 to 100 people alone who are members of this website who have I129F NOA 1 dates of March, February, and even January that have not been approved (more delinquencies for K3's than K1's). I think for all of us with March or early April NOA 1, the reality is we could be approved tomorrow, or two months from now. It's impossible to accurately guess, because no one at USCIS is willing to offer a straight story on it.

Also, there is another guy I see posting to these websites that believes the six month period starts from your I-130 NOA1 date, when it comes to processing your K3. That is not correct. It comes from your I-129F NOA 1 date.

I wish everyone luck, but I think there's a good bit of "over-analysis" going on with this. Which is understandable, considering we are all but powerless in this process.

i just called the VSC. they told me the following:

they are currently processing I-130's submitted on Feb 26, 2008

they are currently processing I-129's submitted on March 4, 2008

hopefully good news will come soon..

I-130 NOA1 - Feb 27, 2008

I-129F NOA1 - March 10, 2008

I call last week and was told VSC was still processing Feb 1st. This would add up with the 6 month window with their August 31st date on the latest update. If they are processing March 4, 2008, we should see some approvals soon I hope. I just don't understand why they just post their processing dates with the same date as the posting date. I just feel they just want to impress the politicians with numbers instead of helping families get reunited.

I hope I see some approvals coming out of VSC soon.

Lambie and Wolfie

exactly, updating it yesterday and putting the updated date of august is a scam which would not really make sense to anyone who is in the right state of mind.

This is interesting because I called last week and they told me that VSC was processing Feb 2008 and that it maybe about 60 days longer. :crying: The number I called is 800-375-5283. Is this the VSC or a national call center? Is there another number? Thanks :)

Lambie, look at a post from a little earlier in this thread, there is a way you can get directly to VSC through that 1-800 number by hitting a certain sequence of numbers in the automated system. You start at that national #, and work your way to VSC.

If they follow their own rules, they should approve me by October 30. This is next week!!!! I don't wanna create false expectations, but I still have some hopes that everything will be alright SOON!

Anyway, my husband and I decided to contact our senator this week. If they approve us before we get any answer from him it would be great. Otherwise we'll have already contacted him and maybe this will help us. I wanna see approvals this week! Even if it's not mine! :star:

Well, I called the VSC number, but no officer was available, so I was transferred to the national rep. It was that person that told me it is 6 months from the date of what it is I was looking for (129F). She verified I said April 8, as mine is dated, not the 18th. Then she told me I am past the 6 months, from that date... so... So, she said wait 15 more days for the 30 to pass, then they can investigate it if dont hear anything. But she said hopefully I will hear something before 15 more days. She said they update bi-weekly. I said "you mean every two weeks they update what they have approved?" And she said said, every 2 weeks, at each individual service center. So I asked "so, could it be the reason it shows no activity on my application is that I am in-between the 2 week updates at VSC?". And she said yes, that could very well be why.

So, hopefully 2 weeks will show the next installment on this saga... or sooner....

Brian I hope for both of our sakes that is the case. Although their stories at USCIS seem to change like the direction of the wind, I DEFINITELY want to believe we are getting close, and like you, any information that suggests there may be some light at the end of the tunnel, (hopefully not a train), is something that keeps me going. It could well be that, in general, most of the active applications are in the April range, although I know a lot of March people who are still waiting.

Good luck man. It's high time some lets us get on with our lives. It sucks being in this holding pattern.

Maybe this is a stupid question, but... more than half of the people that filed on June 11 got NOA2 already. Why would that happen when there are still so many old ones? Is there a common thread that links any of these or is it truely just random? It's hard to believe that they would be just sitting on March/April cases while processing May/June cases... There must be SOME reason for the discrepancy. RIGHT??

This is very interesting because I just called the national customer service number and got the following information: They are actually now processing March 4, and thus are clearly outside the 6 month window. Amber, the woman I spoke to said that she did not know why the VSC website stated 6 months. My petition (recieved March 21) is exactly 30 days past 6 months today. I was told that this fact alone is not a criterion for expedition, which is done only in the case of "severe emergency". I was told to wait for the next update, which would take place between the 15th and 19th of November (once a month, not every two weeks).

You talk to someone and get one story, I talk to another and get and another story entirely. Whom are we supposed to believe?

this is a major problem. Even the people who work their don't know what is going on. It looks like one member received an approval yesterday, so hopefully there will be a flood of approvals this week.

hmmm... I wonder if they might not tackle it from two ends as well as in the middle. I mean, if one says they are processing April 23 and another time calling they say March 5, maybe it is a whole series of them within a certain range? Maybe one person has a certain date range, and another has another date range? I just try to figure it out since nothing much else I can do. If I supervised the place I would require them to take each one in order. But maybe they divide them up, within a couple months of the year, and person A gets a certain date range, and person B gets another date range? Maybe whatever one is being processed at the time is the one it shows for at what point they are at? Who knows...

Sigh...
