You know nothing about me, or my financial status, medical status or whatever-so before you bring personal stuff into this and end up looking really silly I suggest you be quiet about hoping I never get stuck by the insurance companies or getting seriously ill.

My bad, so you are in the 1% of Americans that don't have to worry about health care, that rocks, but for the rest of the working folks, big concern, even one's who think they have good coverage.

where on earth did you get that from? Someone said 2+2=sausages. I think that fits now for your statement. You don't know me, how can you assume so much?

What I would like to know is what you propose to do with 'dolewallers'? I am also interested in exactly what percentage of the tax burden assigned to welfare is taken up by such people?

If I am going to get angry about my tax dollars getting wasted, I am at least going to get angry over something tangible. Tax avoiders are right at the top of my list of offenders, not 'dolewallers' simply because the waste on these people is negligable, and could be more so if we wasted a few dollars on preventative care for them. Oh the irony (correctly used too).

Well, I suggest dolewallers ( and tax dodgers to be punished by community service) be put on a program, that could actually help them progress to a job [ dolewallers]- actually doing something for their money. They would get at least a reference for their resume and a chance to study, maybe? I dunno.

I also want to know the % tax burden welfare imposes. How do you know it's "negligible"? Do you have a source or something-nm-I'll look it up myself, because I am interested too.

I can think of two reasons why this might not happen though, one, the extra resources required to set up a program (presumably educational) on top of simply handing out financial aid and two the difficulty of setting up a 'work for aid' progam what couldn't be accused of 'stealing jobs' from others. It should be possible but I am not sure if anyone has come up with a good plan to do this yet.

As for the numbers, sorry, it's a guess and I could be wrong. I should go and find out for myself as I have said it more than once

I'm just of the opinion...help those who help themselves and not just helping themselves to benefits. Teach a man to fish he has food forever or whatever that phrase is. I understand there are and will always be those who cannot work, study or do something to aid their position...I KNOW that. It's just the % or whatever it may be of those that skip by waiting for handouts bugs the whatsit out of me....And for Ganga Girl's info-I am NOT in the 1% of anything. I started out making melonballs in a supermarket 20 years ago for $4.25 an hour shift work to buy my 1st car. There is a bunch more to the story but to round it off I will say I know all about being extremely sick, battling insurance companies and surviving. That's all I'm going to say about that, but she didn't know, so no harm no foul.

Hmmm...well no argument from me on his oratory abilities. This is the thing, I have done broadcasting TV and radio. I am an excellent speaker too...I can out speech anyone reading a presentation or a speech ( even a question and answer session)..... But would I make a good prez? Nope!

Things I'm reading here give the impression that some think that the rich will give up their privilege, ownership, and influence, either willingly or forcibly, under an Obama administration, and that the masses will attain a higher status and more control over finance and the means of production. Some expect a soft revolution. I find this to be very interesting.

Bazza Obarmy doesn't like the fact that successful people are independent people. He wants to ensure that everyone is reliant on the government for everything. Some people are born to be sheep and follow. Others lead. Its just the way it is. If you are financially independent and have choices, then you aren't part of the machine. If you aren't part of the machine, then you can't be controlled. Those gainfully employed to a certain income level may see a reduction in their tax liability and that is no bad thing. Those who are welfare leeches will continue to receive just enough to keep them baa'ing, and higher income earners will be taxed even more heavily than they are already.

Successful people will be forced to spread $$$$ to those that didn't have the initiative, ingenuity or are just plain lazy. No way in hell. I don't mind those genuinely needy people having enough to get by, and funding programs that help people improve their circumstances, but I sure as anything am NOT doling out hard earned $$$$ to tossers with nothing better to do than have more babies they cannot afford, or are too damn idle to research and DO SOMETHING themselves, and not make a career out of benefit filing!

Perhaps you have spent too much time listening to Ms Palin? You have that uncanny knack of saying contradictory things and making them both 'sound' believable, as well as saying nothing, while seeming to say something extremely profound.
