RFE for AOS

i got an RFE at NVC for my AOS. it was for one of my assets. on line 26c, i used my car as an additional asset. They said they want proof of ownership for the car. i sent in a copy of the title.. what else do they want? i understand that to use your car, you need to prove you own a second car. one of my cars is completely paid off, so i used that one, and that's the one i sent the title in for. the other one i'm still paying off, so i don't have the title. i sent in a copy of the registration card and a copy of my insurance summery showing both cars. i called and no one seems to know exactly what they want me to send in. how do you ask for something and not know what your asking for?

also, it says to send in corrected i-864 with missing documents. nothing on my i-864 is going to change, do i just print off the one i sent in and send it in again?

Do you have to do that I-864..meaning perhaps you could have done teh I-854EZ. Do you exceed the 125% of teh poverty guidlines? If so, then you do not need to use any assets on the I-864EZ.

i'm an unemployed full time college student. i dont have any income, but my assets more than meet the requirements. i used my house, bank account and my car as assets. my house alone was enough, but since i'm unemployed, i wanted to make sure i had enough so i included my car since i have 2 of them and my savings account.

all they want is proof of ownership, but i included that. i'm confused...

I don't know what to tell you about your two vehicle issue. Only thin I may be able to tell you to to speak to an operator at NVC and ask them VERY specific questions.

Being a student does not categorize you as unemployed. Student IS your employment.

I wish I could be of more help to you, but would be interested to know your final results. Keep me posted.

Could they possibly want proof that a loan was paid or bill of sale? Not sure if you had a loan on the car you paid off, but maybe they want your final statement. Just a thought. Good luck, i hope you get the issue resolved soon.

my main car was bought cash, i never had a bank lein on it. my other car i still owe half on it, but i'm not using that one as an asset. i just sent proof of ownership so they know i have a second car(copy of registration card and proof of insurance with both cars on it). maybe they want the loan info on that one...

Just send them an explanation. Bought car with cash (do you still have a receipt?) and here is the title. What else could you possibly send them? (Canceled check perhaps)
