I will start making my own bread as well as I will have the time, not to keen on the American bread it is a bit sweet for my taste, so I think a bread making book is in order, however the raising bread at the rise and shine grill is amazing and they sell a massive loaf for only $4, but you cant make a sarnie with that well maybe a PBJ LOL

I miss a decent loaf of bread. I have never had such disgusting bread anywhere apart from here in the USA as much as I love it here. It reminds me of a cake that is too sweet.

only cost $3.96... I was happy with that, as it went such a long way :)

The Very Secret Diary of Legolas Son of Weenus - by Cassandra Claire

Day One: Went to Council of Elrond. Was prettiest person there. Agreed to follow some tiny little man to Mordor to throw ring into volcano. Very important mission - gold ring so tacky.

Day Six: Far too dark in Mines of Moria to brush hair properly. Am very afraid I am developing a tangle.

Orcs so silly.

Still the prettiest.

Day 35: Boromir dead. Very messy death, most unnecessary. Did get kissed by Aragorn as he expired. Does a guy have to get shot full of arrows around here to get any action? Boromir definitely not prettier than me. Cannot understand it. Am feeling a pout coming on.

Frodo off to Mordor with Sam. Tiny little men caring about each other, rather cute really.

Am quite sure Gimli fancies me. So unfair. He is waist height, so can see advantages there, but chunky braids and big helmet most off-putting. Foresee dark times ahead, very dark times.

I'm just going to come out and say it.. I actually quite enjoyed the bread and cheese that I had in the US last week.

If you opt for the "seriously strong cheddar", it's ALMOST as good as English cheese, and it's good enough to live on. :)

I haven't found good Cheddar :(

the bread was a Central Market freshly baked one, Monkey... it was in their own bag, and just had something generic like 'grain bread' on the label

Thanks for the heads up on the bread

I quite liked the cheese, I got addicted to the chipotle one, and I gather when the say sharp cheese it is the more mature, however to my horror Kroeger had discontinued the Mickey Mouse shaped cheese I used to like on a toasted bagel in the morning, seems that everything I liked has been discontinued no more Diet Dr Pepper berries and cream and no more Ben and Jerry's Dave Mathews band flavour, oh well bet look for a replacement it's a hard job but someone has to do it

Nick lives on cheddar. He likes cheese and pickle (Branston) baguettes. So the closest thing to satisfy him after sampling a bunch of cheese one day is the Boar's Head brand Black Wax Cheddar, which is found at various grocery deli counters like Kroger. The other cheese he fancies is also at Kroger, but over with the pre-packaged cheeses like Kraft and Crackerbarrel. It's called (Kroger brand) Private Selection "Habanero Hot Pepper Cheddar." Awesome cheese if you like spicy things. A habanero pepper is hotter than a jalapeno.

Also at Kroger are baguettes that are marked "Just Bake It." We bake them for 8 minutes and they come out nice and crusty like he wants.

Thanks honey I will definatley try the Habanero Hot Pepper Cheddar I like it spicy, not my boy though he is a wimp ha ha

I like Kroger and it is in walking distance from the house good for basics but I really like Tom Thumb for the fish, our Kroget does not have a fish counter only frozen stuff, got some nice Mahi Mahi at Whole Foods, but did not get time to eat it so that is in the freezer waiting for my return doubt todd will eat it as I left him a freezer full of stuff I already cooked for him and all he has to do is heat it up

If it's any comfort: After about 5 years you start not to notice how disgusting the bread is anymore...

When I get desperate enough for propper bread I just bake some...

Yeah the Kroger bake your own bagguette is good.

My kroger here sells PG Tip tea bags. I like there private selection english breakfast tea.

This christmas they had After eight mints from England mmmmmmmmmmmm and Terrys Choc orange which is made in Poland now. The Kroger private selection choc orange is good.

Its still a round trip of 40 miles for English products from Meijers or World Market.
