I am happy to hear that I am not the only one and I would like to thank everyone for their replies. You all have been a great sense of encouragement for me. Without VJ I don't know how I would do it because I was lost in the whole process.

You are definately right. How can we care for our families if we aren't there? That is good that you guys at least keep the communication going. With me being in school it is so hard for my husband and I to keep it up. That is what you could do.....keep talking and keep the memories alive. Be positive. You will be together, some way or another.

Good Luck!!!!!!!!

It has been 1 year 15 days since I left him the first time...and 5 months 4 days since my last visit with him.

Like S and S....good days then the bad days. Wish I was in one of the good days right now, but I am not. For the first time ever, my husband allowed me to see the toll this is taking on him also, this past Friday....it is very hard for any man to allow you to see him in a weakened state, and anta habibi is NO different!

We talk every night without fail, and we talk on the phone about every other day. We send e-cards, actual letters in the mail, and on the weekend we have our family time together: I speak with my Moroccan family on the cam and he talks with me and the kids, and my parents if they come over.

We also like to reminisce about our times together....it helps to have those memories!

We do not give up....no matter what!

After this Tuesday's 2nd interview....one way or the other we will be together! Either he is coming here or our son and me are meeting him in Spain or London to live.

It is not natural to be away from your spouse like this! It really isn't! Wives are meant to care for their families to nurture them...how can you when the key person is missing? Men are meant to protect and provide for...how can they when there is no one to do that for??

I keep remembering that we are not given more than we can handle....and in the end we will all be stronger for it! Our marriages will be built on a strong foundation, not sand that can so easily be washed away.

Good Night All!

I can relate. You gotta admit you love them so much,,, but they do get on ur nerves sometimes...

I think we were blessed we did not have a long wait . filed in August 2006 got interview and visa and he waited a few months to save money and was here by July 2008. We were only in AP for about two weeks. But one thing was good was he was in UK on student visa and interviewed there. Perhaps that was the reason.

One thing you have to have is patience, hope, and be stubborn. If you want it you have to fight for it. Its worth it. To know you fought so hard to be together gets you through the hard times in ur marriage. JUst remembering how u wanted to look in each others eyes at the same time, or touch thier hand or face, or just feel them breathing , u know all that stuff. Then when things seem bad after u are together u remember those times and its easier to work things out. You know how hard u struggled to be together.

Good luck to all.

Well, more like the ladies talk but I don't mind to say somthin.

I haven't seen my wife for 1 year and 10 days now and its hard for sure. We have been married for 4.5 years and only lived together for close to three months.

Whether you have been away for 1 day or many days, its certainly hard to be apart from eachother.

We are talking on the phone many times in a day and webcam and emails and chat chat and gifts and etc. are included but you have to give two times more love since they are not with you. When they are with you and you should give them seven times more to makes all these years of seperation even out.

Master Rajaa, knows this better. She and her husband are the foundation and main source of NimLand. Land of LOVE!!!!!

We all know what we are and our values. We know how much we love and howmuch we care. No matter how much of seperation we have to go through but we are here to give love forever.

Wish you all best luck in this process and your life's process and the rest of your journey.

God bless you all...

Well..here I go again.... :crying:

The part you mentioned about we give 2 times more love now....and should 7 times more when we are reunited...that hit my heart like a rock!

We are so completely engrossed with being apart, we do not consider when we are finally together.....to not take that for granted and to continue the pace for our futures and our love.

Thank You Nimche for reminding me!

I keep a journal and write in it whenever I have time. I talk about the visa process and how things are between me and my husband. I write about how much I miss him and things he says or does for me. I try to write down those things so I will not forget them later. This way, when things may get difficult after he is here, I can look back and see how much I faced. It also helps a little to relieve the stress of waiting. At least I am recording our memories in a way in a cute little journal.

Thank You Nimche for reminding me!

Never ever take any loved one for granted, whether they are a spouse, parent, child, friend, or pet and whether they are on the other side of the world or right next to you - never let one day go by without telling and more importantly showing them how much you love them... 9/11 taught me that... Thank God I did not lose anyone that day but I know people who did and I would hate to think of being in a fight with my husband, he leaves to go to work and my last words to him are in anger over some most likely trivial thing... Sorry if this is a 'downer' and maybe it sounds a little preachy but it is something I try to never forget.

As for our own story, we have been apart for roughly 3.5 months now since the last time we kissed at the airport - I don't know if I can do that again, if Heaven forbid he is denied his visa then is it worse planning a visit anyway and then having that gut-wrenching goodbye or just waiting until you don't have to say any more goodbyes even if it's a year more??? We have a couple of red flags so this is really on my mind... It is horrible being away from him - I need to have surgery on my one good eye soon and I wish he were here with me to give me support and courage - we are going to talk before I go in for surgery but it's not the same as feeling his arms around me and hearing his reassuring voice in person rather than over the staticky phone connection... :crying:

This is sad and it should be hard on you being here by yourself in another country. I went through the same situation and I hope this is almost over.

Pattu Rani, You are right about this and its hard. The situation you explained is still hard even you didn't have an argument.

It keeps tears in my eyes and feel really sorry for anyone's loss. I hope for this wars to end one day so everyone can live their life in peace.

I havent touched my husband in 267 days. We also have good and bad times coping.

We talk everyday on the phone, send millions of texts. And we talk on cam 2-4 times a week.

Its rough

This week has been one of my "bad times" :(

Lisa

(F)(F) Remember it's the end we are waiting for, and once it's done it will all be a distant memory.

 Exactly RR! Let's all keep keeping on!

Thanks! Thats what we look forward to. The days we are sitting doing boring family stuff and appreciating every single second together. :)

Wow, 2 plus years is inspiring, and also depressing at the same time. All "normal" relationships should try this test of time and see how they do.

This club we all joined makes us exclusive I guess. Hopefully, my wife will be my Christmas present this year. I will suggest to those with long wait times to get in touch with your congressman. Mine ( his secretary actually) has become our best advocate, and calls me or emails me every few weeks since I got him involved. Patience is hard to keep sometimes, but the rewards I am convinced will be worth it all.
