One question for some of these people, where have you been the last 8 years??????? How can you not notice the people sleeping on the streets, the children at the shelters, do you just pretend it away. I unfortunately can't do that, you try telling someone that since they didn't come early to the doctors that now their cancer has spread, and now it is too late. As they are crying and telling you the reason they didn't come to the doctors sooner was they had no insurance. If that doesn't tear your heart out, than you need some serious help. Even one's with health insurance, you have to have approval for treatments, and believe me if it cost the HMO's a little extra money, guess who is not going to get treatment.

You'll get called simple minded and sentimental for that attitude. These people are poor because they are lazy. They don't help themselves because they are used to goverment handouts. Think about the leaders you've experienced in your own life - group leaders, teachers, supervisors, religious officials - while agenda is of utmost importance you can't deny that what distinguishes a good leader from an extraordinary leader is the ability to inspire and move people. It is true that there are some people who abuse their power, but I don't think that eliminates the importance of such a quality.

Yes, and if the person had made a statement along the lines that leadership is all that matters or even a comment that leadership is the most important quality, then your comment would made sense. But that's not what was said. However, the leadership qualities were actually put behind the agenda which was identified as being of utmost importance.
