Well, i do wonder if him bringing up the religious ceremony raised a flag. There's been plenty of discussion about how certain cultures have the religious ceremony or even the big engagement parties and when they show pictures from them the interviewer automatically starts in that it LOOKS like a proper wedding, blah blah blah. I'm not sure. As for the jump back to the personal sex question, I just think when he mentioned that you two had the ceremony to be together she naturally progressed to, "well WHY did you absolutely have to be??" I agree with other posters that maybe she was just trying to see what his reaction would be. Hard to say what she could have been thinking.

Good luck getting it sorted

And so he did what countless punk-rock songs had told him to do so many times before: he lived his life

10/07/2006 WEDDING DAY!

11/14/2006 AOS packet made it to 'the box' after being overnighted.

12/02/2006 Paul had biometrics

12/14/2006 AOS Forwarded to CSC AND AP Application approved.

01/17/2007 First touch of 2007 at CSC

01/20/2007 Touched AGAIN (also the 18th) come on...

February: Oops, RFE for a REGISTERED marriage certificate. Oops! Overnighted it.

02/28/2007 Paul gets email letting us know his GREENCARD is on it's way! It's done...for now!

03/09/2007 Paul's greencard arrives. And breathe...

We began with mailing the I-129 in on February 27, 2006 so the whole process took us approx. one year.

Good luck out there!

pax,

Agreed.

If one wants to get a person to start reacting impulsively, to reveal their hidden thoughts, one pushes their 'hot button'. For most people, probing intimate questions work quite well.

There may be other types of questions that would achieve the same result, including the result of making the applicant uncomfortable, angry, and intimidated. That is, afterall, exactly the reason the questions are being asked, the result that the interviewer wants to achieve. An uncomfortable, angry, and intimidated person is going to reveal things that a comfortable, happy, confident person will be able to keep hidden.

Yodrak

Yodrak, I do understand why such questions are asked. That said, I don't think that COs ought to have free rein to ask anything they like in whatever manner they like. I simply don't. Reasonable people can, and do, disagree on the issue. .....

Again, I don't really see what asking about a sex life can glean about a relationship that no other type of question could. I don't see that it will expose very many frauds, if any at all, and it will only serve to make legit applicants uncomfortable, angry, and intimidated.

I read the post a couple of times. I know these questions can be offensive. It is a shame there isn't a better way. I am surprised they haven't added a lie detector to the interview process. Imagine how frightening that would be.

I see some things there that would probably make me ask questions if I was the officer. I think she was still married when they had this

( religous ) ceremony. That would lead me to many questions. Unfortunately there are many people in the world that want to come here to do harm to the country. There are also many more here that would like to help them enter. The purpose of the interview is to try to identify these people and prevent them from entering. I could see why the officer might want to slow down for a minute and look over the evidence a little more closely.

Hopefully this is just a little bump in the journey that you will overcome quickly.

I just finally talked to my fiance online about interview. I feel alot better now. I don't think its quite as bad as i thought. One thing i was wondering about though is he told me that she was asking him questions that was from a computer and she would type in his answer. Has anybody heard that done before in an interview? I know when my 13 year old had to go to a counsular they did the same thing to him and got a personality print out of him and where kind of able to tell if he was lieing or not. I am wondering if this is along the same lines that the embassy might be doing. Any thoughts?

When the US embassy says that you are on review that means you need to wait that your status is being reviewed. They need to do background check on you. This usually happens when you send discrepancy documents, big age-gap difference, when you are single mom( making sure that you were not married before and is free to marry). There are lots of applicants who are on review for even more than 1 year.

The best thing you can do if you are impatient and worried is just call the embassy from time to time so they know how much interest you and your fiancee puts on your application.

good luck hope you will here from them soon.
