Hi all,

I am PR & had filed I 130 for my wife and now here case is completed at NVC and I have been told there is no visa # available right now. The case was completed in end of Sept.'08. Does anybody from Nepal waiting 4 interview date? I am wondering how long more need to wait for the interview date.

And in the interview is it compulsory to have wedding pictures.

I will appreciate for any help.

Thanks

I am surprised you don't have an interview date yet - in what I have read here KTM generally schedules the interview right away, interview date is 4-6 weeks after case is complete, this is for CR-1 - K-1s I have seen them schedule it within a week or 2!!!

In fact we are biding our time a little bit getting everything in to NVC because our plan is for me to come to KTM in May and spend a few weeks visiting Govi's extended family and trekking in the Annapurna area - G will come through POE with me after July 4th so since the visa expires after 6 months he needs to get it in early January at the earliest.

eta: I believe wedding photos are important, along with any photos of the two of you with family - in all the cases I have seen going through KTM they have asked to look at photos but chat logs etc. not so much - we have red flags though so we are bringing the kitchen sink... we will probably even get a signed letter from my inlaws.

Thanks for your reply. Yes we dont have wedding pics so I might have to go :help: . I dont know if its gonna create problem. It might be better to go Nepal and take some pics after she gets the interview letter. I am having my citizenship interview in this November also. Lets see I m praying for everything.

Pattu Rani!! are you Nepali or American? just curious....

I think you are dealing with NVC now ... if you have any question about forms you can let me know.

Thanks

Good luck - Don't stress too much, I am sure if your other evidence is strong and you have any photos at all especially with family that will be good even if they are not wedding photos - if it is possible for you to go to Nepal between now and interview then go and take lots of photos, go to different places like Pokhara, Nagarkot etc. have a great time, relax before the big day and take lots of photos!!!

My husband is Nepali, I am American with Nepali mutu (L):) .

Yes, we are at NVC now, hope to have late December-early January interview.

Best of luck with your citizenship interview - I will pray for you too. (F)

Thank you so much. Yes if my citizenship interview goes well and if they take my oath ceremony same day then I think I can be able to go before her interview date. Because I am expecting she might be getting interview letter soon since her case at NVC is completed.

I waited so long for my citizenship interview so I dont wanna mess this also. Everyting is on God. Yes we have only few pictures.

About your case... I recommend you to call NVC and find out which Immigration Visa Application form your husband need to fill and sign? In my case it was IV Application form(DS-230) And you can pay IV FEE online If your husband also need to fill DS-230 then tell your husband to fill IV application from internet part I and part II but tell him to sign only part I and send it to you with certified PCC, his certified Birth Certificate, certified Marriage Certificate and his 2 photographs(2 inch X 2 inch) with his full name and case # written on the back. If you get these doccuments now by that time you can finish pay IV FEE online and it gets paid status after around 1 or 2 days then you can print bar code and send them with your doccuments which you have received from your husband from Nepal. This saves alot of time.

Write case # at the top right hand side corner of each doccument you send to NVC. I am mentioning these things in case you dont know it.

Thanks

I will keep my fingers crossed for you - please keep me posted. I think your wife should get her interview date soon.

Thanks for the tips - was it hard for you to get PP photos enlarged to the correct size? My husband will be going to the photo shop on Gaushala Chowk and bringing the diagram from the embassy website showing correct photo size. Also I don't think he needs a translation of his birth certificate, right? He has his PCC and certified court marriage certificate. We filled out a copy of the DS-230 together when I was there, don't remember if he signed pt. II, if he did he can just fill out another copy. I will be sending in the IV visa fee next week, 2 days after Tihar.

No, in any photo studio in Nepal should know the size for America's visa standard and to make it more clear you can tell your husband to tell the requirement of the photo such as size and background of the photo requirement.

About birth certificate if its totally in Nepali then he needs to translte it if its in both nepali and english then he dont need to translate. Any doccumens which is only in Nepali writing needs to translate. When your husband send send signed IV application and other doccument tell him t send copy of his passport's Biographic page

Hi all,

I just pass my citizenship interview and got oath ceremony same day. The Interview lady was very nice. She went over the N-400 application and and took civics and history test I answer all of them and she took english speaking and writing test. which is very easy she asked me to read and write simple english sentence. anyway I am very happy that I pass the interview and got my naturalization certificate.

My Question is about signing the Naturalization Certificate. Instrustion page says sign in cursive .. no initials and must match as it is printed on the Certificate. My understanding is we have to write name in cursive letter. but it also says signature. I am kinda confused .. is anybody just got naturalized and got US Passport. I went to Post Office to get application and asked the person at the desk he said I have to sign my usual signature. I am just confused. I will be very thankful for all the help.

Thanks
