Phone call from the Consulate

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to ask a question to other MENA applicants -- my fiance had is interview at Casa on October 15th (Wed) and he said it went really well -- just a few questions, how we met, what I did in Morocco, what I was doing in the US now, where else he had traveled. She did not ask for evidence or documents of financial support at all. He said he felt really good about it -- she gave him a form that said they have to do mandatory AP, nothing else required of him, and the CO actually told him that it "wouldn't be long". So all this is great news of course! Then on Thursday, the very next day, I get a call on my cell phone (the number we had provided) from a Bethesda, MD area code, but the lady says she is calling from the Consulate just to inform me that my fiancé's visa has been approved and that he would be getting a call from the Embassy shortly (a day or two).

Have any of you had a similar experience? I was kind of suspicious actually that his AP would only take a day! I got the feeling that they might be 'testing' us almost....I guess we will know if he really does get that call on Monday or not....

Just asking for anyone who has had similar experiences.

I've never heard of them calling the fiance in the US...but I have heard of AP being very quick on occassion... good news!

It's sad that they make us all so suspicious if something is going smoothly. I hope it's legit and he gets his call Monday!

It might have been from morocco. MD's code is 301 but I also think Casablanca's city code is 30. We sometimes get calls from Morocco that show up as somewhere in the US because it cuts off the digits and shows up as a US number.

never heard of it but guess anything is possible it would be nice if they start doing some things to help the process instead of making it worse, let us know

They never issue visas on the same day anymore, so I don't think that this is a reason to be suspicious. I think congratulations are in order.
