We just found out that we have to ask for extension, my interview is on June 2nd, 2006 and the expiration date was on April 15th, 2006.

I would like to know if a fax copy of my fiance's letter asking for one 4-months extension will be enough? I am affraid the letter won't arrive on time by mail.

If you are actively seeking the visa (sent in your DS-230, and Checklist), the Consulate will automatically extend the petition expiration until the date the visa is granted. You don't need to send them anything...
