I called the NVC in early October and was told by the operator that my case was completed on September 29. I have been waiting for an interview to be scheduled and was told today that it was not scheduled for the month of November.

When I check the automatic phone messages, the message says that I am still missing documents. I also received a checklist in the mail dated October 9 asking for the same documents that I sent in mid September! I want to make sure my case is really complete and will have my interview scheduled! Any suggestions?

You received your approval notice and the 3rd packet? I know they can't schedule an interview until they receive all documents. Once they receive those documents they can give you a date. You are filing for a K1 is that correct? Or are you filling for something else? I would actually contact the place where you are going to have your interview because they can tell you more. That is how I have helped my fiance by emailing back and forth with the consulate. If they received only half of your documents though I am surprised they did not call you to figure out what happened.

Believe what operator says. Sometimes NVC doesn't update phone message.

Interview dates are slotted according to the Consulate, hope you get december interview date

I went back and looked and realized you are not having an interview for the same thing as my fiance, but I would still suggest to call or email where you will have your interview and they can better tell you what you are missing or if anything was received. Good luck to you!

Sounds like the checklist you received was the false RFE you'll see referred to around here. Based on your timeline, it is likely due to your AOS package being processed before your DS-230 package was received, so the checklist was for the DS-230 package itself (which has of course since been sent). For peace of mind I would just call to confirm the a response to the checklist letter is no longer required. And don't worry about the AVR - it is not updated reliably. Mine still gives the RFE message even though I've been completed for weeks and have an interview date. And not everyone gets an interview date in the next round of scheduling after their case is completed, as it depends on how busy your embassy is.
