I sent in a quite organized package (I-130 / G325 / receipt of filing fee / cover page / etc etc), to Beijing on Sept 29th, and up until now (Oct 17th), I still haven't received any confirmation from the DHS.

I have confirmed the package was indeed delivered to the Beijing DHS office -- how long should it take before I receive some kind of notice?

I will call the phone number for Beijing DHS -- but I've called at least 50 (yes FIFTY) times before, and they've never picked up the phone once -- it just goes to voice mail. I have left a message, but they have never returned my messages.

Should I keep waiting, or is there another way to check on things?

thanks

Local Processing Procedures

We request that anyone filing any application with this office always provide a clear and complete address written in Chinese characters, an e-mail address and local phone numbers. Please note that the office does not accept mailed-in applications.

Yes, it was also my understand that you had to make an appt and file the petition in person when you were in China. Did you find instructions clearly telling you to mail it in?

The American Citizen Services unit at the Consulate in Shanghai gave me instructions which said I could either deliver the forms in person, or mail them into Beijing -- and the address and detailed instructions were provided.

Given that it's been about 3 weeks since I've sent in the forms, I'm starting to regret that I didn't arrange a trip to Beijing to do this in person.

Hi, I've also read that I-130 packets cannot be mailed in. I am in the same boat you are and have called probably more than fifty times. I've been trying since Oct 9th, every working day (excluding their many holidays) to leave messages, send emails and just plain old call every hour when I have the chance. I was lucky last week when someone picked up my call, but she told me i would have to call back this week since they were moving. They should have moved two weeks ago and they are behind schedule with that so that is a reason why they probably haven't returned any messages. I'm just as frustrated as you are. I just want to file this packet if they would just pick up their phone and give me an appointment. Up till now, I haven't found any other way to contact them. I've just resigned myself to the fact that I'll have to keep trying till they do pick up their phone and do their job by being helpful. I've heard from others on a website for Chinese who want to immigrate out of their country (Candleforlove.com) that the Beijing US consulate office is pretty disorganized, and it scares me since we have to rely on them for help. Please update me if you succeed in getting through. I shall do the same, thanks.
