OK, here's the receipt for my wife's one way ticket from MNL to LAX paid for in cash. As I said $600. Watch out for unscrupulous travel agents on VJ posting stories about greatly inflated $2400 one way tickets (unless your flying first class!). This was purchased through a walk in travel agency in the Philippines and not through PAL. The agent told her she could have had a cheaper ticket on a different day, but we wanted to meet in LAX on that Friday.

thank you ninjarocket, i'll keep your advise in mind. :thumbs:

and i must say wow, you indeed got a great deal on your fiance's plane ticket. the cheapest i could find for manila-las vegas was 709 USD. maybe because las vegas is a premiere destination for tourist that's why the fare going there is not much of a good deal..but i'm sure i'll find something cheap, i've been browsing through airlines and local agencies..hopefully i can get my visa soon so i can purchase ticket at the cheapest rate (before the holidays - thanksigiving, election, christmas)..

i got my ticket last friday at a local travel agency (Destinations Specialist). and guess how much i paid for CEB-LAS???

:dancing::dancing: 580 USD!!! :dancing::dancing:

YES! just 580 USD! it would have been 700++USD but i asked about the first time immigrant discount. can you imagine they slashed off almost 200 USD from the original selling price??? i had a great bargain!!! and this is including the taxes too..

the people from the travel agency were kind enough when i asked them to look for a cheap deal from 3 airlines i suggested and i asked for reviews and what to expect, they handed me several sheets to read..it was worth it..

i'm leaving on the 10th of november!!!! weeepeee!!!!

thanks to everyone who posted their inputs on this ticket thingy, i appreciate it a lot..

When Ruchie came here, I sent her 100.00 for her pocket money. You never know if you might need it. Make sure that you have in Pesos the travel tax and Terminal fees.
