Preparing for medical

I got my interview date today and am now scrambling to make sure I get my medical arranged in plenty of time. Based on the reviews I've seen, I plan to use Seiden in Toronto. For those who have used the same office, how long after you called were you able to get an appointment? My regular doctor takes a month or more to get in so I'm a little panicked that this might be similar.

Also, if I am able to get in relatively quickly, do I need to have my interview letter to get in? Their website states "Appointment letter or other instructions that you received from the U.S. Government or your legal adviser that show your alien/case number", so I was thinking I can maybe bring either the receipt from my online IV fee bill payment or the barcode cover sheet for the DS-230...but before I count on that I'm interested to know if anyone else has had a problem presenting something other than an appointment letter.

I had to have my actual interview letter in order to be admitted for the exam. You can make the appointment without it, however you have to have the letter or they won't do the exam.

Unless they've changed in the last 4 years.

Yup, me too.....had to show the letter first. BTW, my medical at that office took 5 hours!!!!! There were about fifteen of us going through the process that day. They would take us one at a time for a vaccine/test/examination and then start over with the first person for the next test. When we were all done there, they sent us to another location a few miles away for a chest X-ray. I'm only telling you this so you'll pack a few munchies. I was so hungry, I was practically fainting. I'm not the type of person that can go without lunch. (This all took place in July of 2006.)

Seiden in Toronto was great! I called on a Friday and they wanted to know if I wanted to come on Monday or Wed of the following week which was great. I went earlier this month. I didn't have my letter but my sponser faxed me their letter and I used that. I got my xray at that location and did not have to go anywhere else. Very nice/helpful people work there as was the doctor.

Okay, so I went ahead and booked my medical appointment today. Hopefully either hubby or I will have received the interview letter by 2 weeks from Monday or I guess I'll have to reschedule. Thank you for your input everyone. :)
