I think they will abolish it.

It's a stupid process and it should be done by the US Embassy before a interview is scheduled.

We had to go thru DV. I see it as a waste of time.

We had to go thru DV. I see it as a waste of time.

they started it because people in manila were giving fake NSO documents and giving fake names to get around being married to a filipino and not having an annullment while having a k1 filed for them and pretending to be single. So they started verifying all NSO records, cross referencing birth certificates with CenNOMar etc.

If you paid the fee one month before the interview its done by the time you have your interview. Unfortunately people paid it at the interview and then had to wait.

We also went thru DV. We paid it a month before our interview and got our visa a week after our interview. In fact we were in the first group of couples to go thru DV, and had to learn the process from the official websites which recommended to pay the fee a month before interview. And it cant be done by the US embassy since the record databases are the Filipine governments property.

Sorry people didnt research the process to minimize the time line of the process.

It will be back, as there are too many fake documents being used. And not a waste of time. It actually protects the US citizen.

sunlyk: Its only PhP 650. :P If people can afford to pay the visa and medical fees then im sure DV fee wont hurt.

chris4gretchen: Not everyone who paid DV a month before the interview got their visa's a week after. There were a lot who paid a 1-2 months before and still they end up in AR coz of DV. And its not like these people didnt research the k1 process. We do understand the point of the DV. Its just that its a long tedious process... you cant rush NSO... they work on their own time. They dont have a system of doing these DVs in a timely manner. Its just sad everyone has to pay for a few people's mistakes. :)

YES, THIS IS TRUE. WE PAID TWO MONTHS BEFORE THE INTERVIEW. WAS PUT ON AR FOR TWO MONTHS AND TEN DAYS. I WILL ASSURE YOU THAT I HAVE DONE ALL THE RESEARCH!!!!

THE MONEY IS IRRELEVANT, THE TIME THAT WE WERE DELAYED IS VERY RELEVANT!!!!

THEY TOOK ON THE PROSCESS WITHOUT THE MANPOWER, OR THE SYSTEM PLANNED. I AM VERY PATIENT, UNTIL YOU ARE DELAYING ME FROM BEING WITH MY WIFE.

THIS SYSTEM IS BROKEN BEYOND REPAIR. FROM USCIS TO NVC TO THE EMBASSY. IT NEEDS TO BE THROWN OUT. A NEW DIGITAL SYSTEM WOULD BE MORE ACCURATE. THE MONEY THAT WE PAID, IS NOT BEING USED IN OUR BEST INTREST.

THE PERSONELL NEED TO BE TRAINED TO A STANDARD FAR ABOVE WHAT IS PRESENT TODAY. MOST OF THE PEOPLE THAT I HAVE DEALT WITH ARE FAR TO COMFORTABLE, GIVING ANSWERS THAT THEY KNOW ARE INCORRECT. TELLING US ANYTHING THAT THEY WISH, WITHOUT WORRYING THAT PEOPLES LIVES ARE AFFECTED.........

Why could you count my only Php 650.00 it just a slice of cake. How many paid for dv? I think it worth millions of pesos already to sum it up. Although it never be my problem cause i never have to wait so long to for my visa to arrive but I feel those people waiting for it.

More and more petitioners are ending up in deep "da kine" because of falsified NSO CENOMARS. Looks like the DV or something similiar should be carried out during the initial petition process instead of waiting 6+ months and having all hell break loose because of fake documents and untruths.

Not many filipinos can afford an annulment on their own.
