For the K-3 visa, do we submit the I-864 or I-134 with the packet 4? Does it vary per country or no?

If so, does anyone know which one to submit in India for K-3 visas?

as a K3 filer you do need to submit form [ I-134 ] with the Packet 3... my guess, packet 4 contains the embassy letter that tells you the interview date...

Can any of the experienced members please help me out with this regarding whether I need the I-134 or I-864 now for the K-3? Also, I know packet 4 info is online now, the items which need to be collected are submitted to the VFS within 10-15 days of the interview date. So, I think the packet 3 contains the interview letter which is already being sent to us. Anyone can confirm this info please?

For K-3, you need I-134. When your spouse is in US and you are filing AOS, you will need I-864. I am sending I-864 in addition to I-134 to my spouse even though I know that its not needed. Its just extra paperwork but just want to be on safer side.

Packet 3 does not contain the interview letter. As part of packet 3, you will need to submit DS-230 Part I, 2 photos, Application of Readiness form, Checklist form and a true copy of passport. I have seen people submitting less than these items and being fine. I have prepared these items as part of submission.

Once you submit Packet 3, embassy will send you Packet 4 or you can ask them to pick up Packet 4. packet 4 contains the interview letter. Your spouse should take this interview letter and have the medical checkup done. Once the checkup is done, your spouse will need to submit documents that are in the checklist (packet 4 and packet 3 checklist are pretty much the same) to VFS within given timeframe. Your spouse will need to carry items such as passport, proof of relationship, extra evidence of affidavit of support, medical report unopened envelope (optional as it can be collected by VFS if you prefer), fees to the interview.

Hope it clears the confusion.

Packet 3 and Packet 4 (except interview letter) can be downloaded from mumbai consulate's website. Within the process, you can contact DOS to inquire about your case at the embassy. they will have up-to-date information on what's happening with your case.
