No, you need to get it translated into English. I not sure where you need to go to get it done.

You will need to have all of those documents translated to English. You can do it one of two ways.

1. Have someone you know translate it, and sign a statement that says they are qualified to translate from Arabic to English.

2. Pay for a professional tranlation.

We paid for the professional translations because we didn't want to give the embassy any reason to doubt our any of our papers.

That's what we did too. One of the ministries may be able to suggest who they use also. Just make sure the person is qualified, they may have a stamp for it too. They seem to have a stamp for everything else.

A'salaamu Alaikum,

My husband did not have his military papers police record, or passport translated. And none of it was certified by the foreign ministry. All of it was submitted in it's original form in arabic to the Consulate in Cairo who have plenty of people who read arabic. The only documents that we translated were his divorce papers and his birth certificate which we needed to submit here in the USA where they do not accept papers in arabic.

He submitted the original military papers and they gave them back to him at his interview. They kept the police report. He copied only the front pages of his passport when he sent in his packet.

I checked with the consulate before he submitted the papers and they confirmed that none of those documents needed to be translated. He's here in the US now so it I can tell you it worked... :)

Good luck in your journey,

K

Exactly what we did...No translation of passport or military paperwork. Only birth certificate. The passport is in English anyway and the military paperwork is for proof in Egypt of your release. It has nothing to do w/ the paperwork for the USA.
