Written test for driver license in RI

Hi All,

We just got the RI manual for driver license, but there are 73 pages in it, how did you prepare for it? Any practice test we can find on the internet for free? How many questions on the exam? And, any idea how many questions you need to get correct to pass the exam? Thanks!

In PA they have questions at the end of each chapter that you can answer.

Other than that, I would say just read the manual.

I think you can get 5 or 6 wrong on the test and still pass.

In a quick search I couldn't find sample tests but here is the link for the sample written tests on the CA DMV site, probably rules are similar all over!

I took my written exam last July. The test has two sets, 20 for rules and regulations and 10 for signs. You need to get 16 correct answers out of the 20 and 7 out of the 10 to pass the test.

Just study the manual and you will be fine. Goodluck.

I read the manual cover to cover 3 times a week before my written test. The weekend before the test, my husband and his family grilled me on different road signs on our way to and from dinner. They also made me close my eyes when we passed a School Zone sign and asked me what time school zones begin and end.

A lot of the stuff is fairly intuitive, however there were a couple of VERY specific questions on the test...I can't even remember what they were now. Although the main DMV in Pawtucket has definitely improved their service in the past year, if you can go to another one, it'd be better.

Plus, the guys who do the road test in Pawtucket are kind of jerks and in other places they are much nicer and more relaxed. My husband ended up taking his test in Westerly because of a SNAFU with my car and having to reschedule. Westerly was the only place that had an appointment available.

The guy in Pawtucket was really rude since my husband is obviously not a native English speaker whereas the guy in Westerly was nice and made an effirt to speak clearly.

We went to the Pawtucket Main office, according to them, only Pawtucket and Middletown will provide the driving test, how come you went to Westerly to take the test? Also, what do you mean about "VERY sepcific questions on the test, do I need to review all the manual book, because there are 73 pages in it? Do you have any website to do the practice test for the written exam? When taking the written test, do you remember if it was timed?
