Timeline: 13 month long journey from filing to visa in hand

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

My favorites are centered around typical Indonesian Cuisine. All components are made from scratch.

These are a few of my favorites:

Home made, filled and fried pastries (Pastel) - filled pastries with sauteed beef, bean sprouts, diced potatoes, diced carrots, seasonings, chili and spices. Deep fried until crispy and served with a sweet and spicy sauce.

Beef Rendang (Daging Rendang) - Simmered beef in coconut milk, with galangal, chili, garlic, shallots, lemongrass, ginger, tumeric....etc. Tender and delicious with steamed rice.

Fried corn cakes (perkedel jagung) - Fresh shucked corn kernels, (crushed in a "mortar and pestle type device), know as an ulakan, mixed with flour, corn starch, crushed hot chili, garlic, onion etc and fried.

Cap Cay - Sauteed fresh vegetables, including: Cabbage, broccoli, cauliflower, carrot, choi sum, mushrooms, chili, etc.....

In fact, some local Indonesian-American couples will be joining us for this type food this weekend. Mind altering drinks also included!!!

My fav meal as a child was meatballs in a tomato sauce that we had over mashed potatoes.

Hmmm...that actually sounds pretty good right now.

It really is tasty

As a connoisseur of fine restaurants, as long as their food doesn't poison me or kill me, it's a good place to eat.

I actually wish there was a pill I could take with all the nutrients my body needs, way too much time of the day is spend with eating, not only that, but cooking, and the worse part, cleaning up. Living in farm country is an example of that, the women had to get up an hour earlier, at 4:00 AM to have a hot breakfast ready for the men, then a hot meal for lunch, and another for supper. When they weren't doing that, were canning, baking bread, cakes, and pies, tending the garden, feeding and killing chickens, etc., then cleaning up after their men went to bed. What a life and seven days of week of that stuff. Ha, like to see some of you city girls adapt to that kind of life.

Also heard that food may be the cause of obesity, but never read any scientific proof of this. But regardless of what you do eat, it's bad for you, if not from one source, from another.

Worse duty in the military was KP, that is kitchen patrol whoever thought that up, day started at 2:00 AM and was over at 10:00 PM, too tired to even think about eating. Corporate lunches weren't bad when the executives came into town, leave at 11:00 AM and come back at around 2:00 PM, half plastered, but had to stay late to catch up on your work. CEO's get paid millions for this kind of work? They didn't have to stay late, but lunch would be short if they had a golf game.

Only a couple times, mom made home made ravioli, that started early in the morning for supper, kind of miss that, but if I have to cook, a peanut butter and jelly sandwich is fine, might even boil an egg if I feel ambitious.

I like most kinds of food as long as it doesn't have any onions in it. Love sushi, Asian food, fried food, pizza, rotisserie chicken, bbq ribs, t-bone steak, fried shrimp, tamales, beans and rice, mashed potatoes and gravy, bread pudding... the list goes on and on and on
