it's nice to hear some assurances from other members about packet 3 and packet 4 that they are outdated. I am planning to send copies of everything that I submitted so far to USCIS and NVC to my wife. But, she will take those copies to consulate instead of submitting it to VFS. She will submit copy of passport, copy of medical, 2 photos and courier fee.

My wife hasn't received anything so far...but consulate is supposed send everything approx. 4 weeks before the interview. I am planning to send copy of my interview letter to my wife so if she doesn't receive anything she can at least get her medical complete in time.

thanks,

CS

Hi guys, did all of you got an interview date if your case was completed at NVC in that past few days? mine was completed on Oct. 14th, and still waiting for interview date. i heard it might be late November. did anyone got their interview date in Mumbai, India? if so, please keep in touch. thanks

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but a November date would be highly unlikely for an October approval. Ours in New Delhi was almost 3 months after our NOA2...

JBean...

I think if your case completed in first week of October, you would have decent chance of getting interview in November because NVC usually decides the schedule for next month's interviews before present month's second week. So I am assuming they would have schedule for Nov. interviews finalized by Second week of Oct. (around 10-15 Oct.) My case completed on OCT 1, 2008 and my wife received Nov. interview date. However, in Gaurav Patel's case, his case complete date is OCT 14 2008, which may be too close to interview scheduling for Nov. So you are right that he may not get interview in Nov. Maybe early dec. is good possibility.

My wife also got Packet 4 from VFS wihch had DS230 attached to be filled out and it asks for originals for all the other things.

And guess what it says courier fee of 365 where as their website says 394.

These guys are idiots as they have not updated their Packet 4 instructions as to if you submitted everything to NVC already no need to submit it again.

There is one good thing thought, on their instruction it says you may wish to submit all documents at your interview only but it is advisable to submit it to VFS for review and correctness.

I told my wife call VFS and find out more information but most probably we will just pay courier fee to avoid confusion and fill out a new DS230.

Anybody who had recent interview from Mumbai..what did you guys do?

Also, check with VFS if you guys havent received letter about your interview.

Current interview dates for November can be checked here:

http://mumbai.usconsulate.gov/interview_appt_schedule.html

I have received an interview letter from NVC for my husband...but he hasn't gotten it yet. The letter I got said the file has been forwarded to Bombay...but he still hasn't gotten his. I got mine last Friday...and the interview date is not listed on the website (the above link)...should I contact them or just wait for couple days for him to receive the packet? If he doesn't recieve it, I was planning on emailing him my scanned copy...can he take that to the medical and the interview or does he have to take the original sent by them...? I know the format is a little different for what he receives. Thx.

I do believe that they accept scanned copy too but others might confirm.

And about interview date listed with Mumbai consulate, may be check the date again in a few days, I do know they update their date after 20th of every month one more time, once NVC has scheduled all the interview for the next month.

For those whose spouses in India have received interview letter, did they receive their letters via speed post from Indian post office or ordinary post?

Congrats...

Did you receive this letter from NVC or from Mumbai Consulate???? This is where I get confused. Does my beneficiary receive a letter for Interview from NVC and another letter from Mumbai consulate? My wife also received her letter from NVC (same letter that I received) this monday (20th Oct.). However, she has NOT received anything from Mumbai Consulate. Should I be worried? Does Mumbai consulate schedule beneficiaries for medical? or can you get your medical done anytime you want within certain timeframe?

Anyone who have had better luck receiving letter, please chime in....

thanks,

I've received mine from NVC, but my husband hasn't received anything from NVC or the Mumbai consulate yet....it's been 2 weeks since our case was completed....don't know when he'll receive his. I've emailed my scanned copy to him...hopefully they'll accept that.

In our case beneficiary received both from NVC and VFS. Mumbai embassy does not send you anything. Its VFS who sends it.

Its funny though when we called VFS they said even though you submitted all the docs, you have to submit DS230 we sent filled out again with copy of docs if you sent original to NVC.

We will be giving them what they need so they dont create an issue with our application.

Has anybody who already went thru their interview had to submit DS230 again at the consulate?

I remember VFS was saying that to some one else and they told them they have send the original at NVC and also submited 2nd set of copies to NVC and they didn't ask for it, on last page of the interview letter it does have list of all the document that you have submited to NVC correct. Rmusic

I received interview letter, medical list, basically Packet 4 only from Mumbai Consulate, I am not sure if it was sent by VFS or not, but sender's address clearly stated as Mumbai Consulate.

I haven't received anything from NVC, though my husband in USA has received NVC letter. I am not that worried about NVC letter, as its the interview letter which I will need to show for my medical and also submitting courier fee in VFS.

Hope this helps.

My wife hasn't received anything from Mumbai consulate yet. I am planning to write an email to mumbai consulate since she hasn't received anything. Is there specific format you have to use for email?

Sometimes, VFS does ask you to submit DS230 Part I. I have told my wife not to fill out the form again as I don't want her to make any mistakes on it. I told her to submit a copy of DS230 we sent earlier and tell them all the originals along with DS230 I and II have been sent already.
