Ha, in driving around town noting the houses ready to fall over, or could use some repair, like a new house, most of them have McCain/Palin signs in front of their homes. While in the far better neighborhoods with up to a million buck homes, practically all have Obama/Bidden signs in front.

Gather that McCain wants to give aid to the super rich and Obama wants to take away from the rich to give to the poor or especially the upper middle class. But also feeling not fair to judge people by the kind of house they live in. Gathering the ones in the nicer homes are begging for a tax break so favor Obama, while the ones living in the broken down homes, actually have all their money in Exxon/Mobile stock and would like to make a lot more of it.

Property taxes never seemed fair, get exactly the same benefits if living in a $10,000 or a million buck home, but in the later pay one hundred times as much. And sure makes a lot more sense to live in a $10,000 home with a $400,000 motorhome parked in front than the opposite. Governor is crying because of reduced taxes and less money back from the feds, going to be 3 billion in a hole. Can always increase property taxes to make it up, reducing spending is out of the question.

Have no idea how this state got by in charging $280.00 on a $50,000 home 30 years ago, we had the same parks and brand new schools. But camping back then was a buck a night, today it's 30 bucks a night in state parks. Or how this country was able to build a brand new interstate system for a nickel a gallon tax on gas, today, can't even plow the snow off the roads with 55 cents a gallon tax. Something is amiss.

Debt servicing payments, at all levels of government, are a much bigger part of budgets than they used to be.

That is, I believe, at the core of all our problems.

What area are you noting this odd occurrence?

In my area I see both signs posted about, no matter the condition the house... except in the Black areas... kinda consistently Obama there.

Some of the dumpiest farms around here belong to our richest people..mostly Obama signs though In Iowa

though there is alot of "closet" republicans running around these parts

some ####### stole the mccain sign from in front of my home. i'm hoping it was a mccain supporter moving it to a location with more exposure, but not betting on it.

I was intrigued with a news story on NPR a few weeks ago, where the reporter was saying that whilst driving through rural Indiana, he came across a farmer's field with a HUGE sign saying OBAMA.

How odd, he said, especially when this is a place almost no one drives AND that Indiana used to be a "red state".
