YES! IN A HEART BEAT! despite the economic ####### of Egypt Abdalla and i both plan to move back to Alex in 5 years. we just want to be able to have a flat paid off and a nice car a a bit of money in the bank first. after doing that math 5 years will be our get out of america time. I want to raise our kids in Alex i want them to see the calm nice life Egypt has to offer and once they are grown the can choose what they want, to stay in Egypt or to go back to the US. I am sure i would insist they go to the US for collage... got to go to LSU if i have any thing to do with it :~)

Heya Jenn, how goes? Sounds like things have settled down on your end! :)

I actually am planning on moving to Cairo sometime early next year. It wasn't the original plan (which has changed many times), but it is the current plan.

I think we will live in the city for a while and then find a place further out, somewhere like 5th October or one of the new areas.

I'm excited and nervous and happy and scared all at the same time. lol

Insha'allah everything will work out okay.

Living with hubby in Egypt, at last.

Yes I could definitely live in Tunisia. I enjoy it there, I'm comfortable, it's modern and especially in Tunis I don't find a lot of differences. That's our plan :D The economy there right now is actually doing much better that it is here. Tons of new jobs and opportunities and a lot of European companies making huge investments in Tunisia. Recently, Airbus has decided to build a large manufacturing plant there as well as many others that are coming to Tunis.

I've never been to any country in ME/NA but I have heard a few stories here on VJ and had several conversations comparing American life with Algerian life with an Algerian. My reply would be a firm NO. And maybe I would not be so fast to say heck no had I not visited Eastern Europe. I do not know how MENA compares to E. Europe but after two summer in E. Europe, I realized how comfortable life is for me here. I love my car, my job, my garden bathtube, my frenchdoors, my lovely patio, hot running water, 24 hour Super Walmart about a mile away, margaritas, lol...I could go on and on. If I wasnt so spoiled then the only thing that would hold me back from moving out of the USA is my debt. I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to earn enough fast enough in MENA to continue paying my debts. For example, I bought my daughter a car. Just her car note and her insurance alone I probably wouldnt be able to swing from overseas. Heh.
