We have K3 interview scheduled for Oct 29th, and CR1 interview on Nov 18th.

Naturally I'd like to move the CR1 interview to an earlier slot...problem is, the embassy operator (cost me ten bucks!) told me that the embassy only does this in cases of medical emergency. However, I keep hearing that people do this all the time.

So...has anyone successfully moved an interview to an earlier slot? How did you manage to do it? Are there some magic words I need to whisper into the phone?

hey my case was just completed at NVC how long does it take to setup up interview in moscow?

Here is my story. I've lived problem free life, payed my taxes. One day I decided to marry this girl. But to do so would require her to come to US of A, and so it started. My problem free live turned in to free problems from USCIS! Sure things turned to unsure, certain dates turned to aproximation within months. All logical thinking was out the door, as I filed my papers withing famous Vermont Centre!

Ilya,

NVC schedules interviews during 2nd week of each month. So it looks like your interview will be scheduled for December sometime between November 10th and November 14th. That is, unless NVC has extended their October scheduling period to include this week. Call them every day this week and see.

I've never heard that somebody pushed interview to an earlier date! If it would be possible, everybody will do it! :star:

Well, this is possible for petitioners who originally filed for K3 visa, but chosen to stay at NVC and go CR1 route. That's because USCIS approves both I-130 and I-129F at the same time (often) and sends both petitions to NVC, which then creates 2 different cases, one for K3 and other for CR1. The K3 petition is then scheduled for an interview and forwarded to embassy that then sends the petitioner the 3rd packet (I-864, DS-230, whatever the forms for K3 are).

In the meantime CR1 petition gets eventually approved at NVC and an interview date is scheduled for it.

In our case, the K3 interview is set for October 29th, and CR1 interview is set for November 18th. Papers should already be in Moscow, so I just want to move CR1 to Oct 29th...we have 2 timeslots available, we just want to use the earlier one.

I dont think I am, I could be wrong, but VJ has Moscow at an average of 189 days from NOA2 to Interview. NOA2 would be when they approved your I-130 on 8-28-08. So you are about 50 days into your 189 average for Moscow. That leaves you with about 140 days of waiting, or about 4.5 months. But, I could be reading it wrong. I have never been too happy with the way VJ lables their data. My K1 was 2.5 months from the time it left NVC to the interview.

No, NVC didnt set up my interview. I was a K1, so my case was adjudicated by the Vermont service center and sent to NVC. Your case was adjucdicated by the NVC since you are a CR-1. But, to my understanding, the NVC does not set up the interview appt. The consulate sets up the interview according to their schedule. I have always heard that Moscow gives you about 3 months to get your ducks in a row. In my case it was 2.5 months, but the interviews are set way in advance, and they only do about 10-12 a day. There will be a bunch of people ahead of you in line already.

Ilya it actually might take two months from the date your case was complete till the interview for the IR/CR visa. Our case was completed in mid August and I had interview on October 12th, look at my timeline.

Ilya, dont panic.

We had our case finished in Sept 20s, interview scheduled on Oct 6th for November 18th.

So it's not 2-3 months.
