Hello everyone

My fiance just got her K1 Visa approved at the US embassy in London!! I have a question, She is traveling on an Italian passport, but was born in Brazil, (she has duel citizenship), She is currently in London, can she fly to brazil to visit family before entering the US on the K1, and then enter straight from Brazil? or does she need to enter the US from the same country that issued the Visa?

I would appreciate any insights

Thanks so much, and be encourage those of you who are still waiting, we waited 7 months for the entire process but things went smoothly! Just follow all instructions carefully and you will be fine!!

Tim

Congratulations on receiving your visa! This is great news.

The VISA for the USA applies to getting into the USA. She can travel anywhere before arriving to the USA. The key is that once she arrives to the USA, she has 90 days to marry, and also, she can not leave the USA and reenter using this VISA. She must have travel documents through the immigratiion office (takes 2 to 4 months to obtain post marriage) or have received her temp green card (8 months to 2 years to obtain post marriage). She can leave the USA, but she can not return to the USA (gain reentry) on the K-1 visa. The K-1 visa only allows her single entry (one time entry) into the USA. I hope this makes sense. :-)

It probably does but an important note is that she can't leave and re-enter on any visa after the K1 entry until either AP is received or a green card.
