I waited for mine in the mail. It did not take long after the Choice of Agent was generated. (three days) I'd tried three or four times to get it from an operator and then just gave up. I paid the AOS fee online yesterday, but the IV Fee Bill hasn't been invoiced yet. Still waiting for the AOS fee to show as 'PAID' so that I can send that package off.

Does anyone know how often they update the Online system? Is there any point in me checking it every other hour? LOL

Thanks again msnoob. I appreciate all of the help and advice you've given me. I seem ti find the operators at NVC a little intimidating at times...they don't always seem very friendly. Anyways, looks like I'm following in your footsteps at NVC. Do you think your spouse will get an interview before Christmas? It's getting really close...

Well, I just found out that my wife's case was completed at NVC yesterday! So I'm pretty psyched. The NVC operator said that my wife wouldn't get a December interview, but that's actually good since my wife and I have plans to spend Christmas together in Mexico (and will otherwise be very busy up until the end of the year). If the interview ends up being in mid-January, that would be perfect.

There was a question earlier about getting the IIN from the NVC operators. After trying and failing to get my IIN three times from different operators, I finally discussed the issue in detail on my fourth call. I explained that if they would just give me the IIN I could process my wife's case more quickly. The operator confirmed that she had the IIN but was not allowed to give it to me. So it looks like the higher-ups at NVC know about people calling operators to get their IIN and are putting a stop to it. It's really not a big deal to wait until you receive your AOS invoice to get the IIN; I had to wait only about a week after my case reached NVC to receive my IIN by mail.

Good luck to everyone!

hello everyone. my post might be out of opic and too early to ask for me anyways, as we didnt even get the NOA2, but we hope is soon and we are trying to have everything ready for everything required at NVC. and seems u already went through it, so better ask u. in the form DS-230, where it requires for the educational institutions attended, did u translate name of institutions in english, and also gave the american corespondent of the diplomas, or just wrote the names as they apear on diplomas, and also named the diploma as in original? this might sound dumb question, but we dont want to risk anything, so we try to double check and get opinions on every lil question mark that crosses our minds. (I specify that the official names r not that different, as universitate-university, medicina-medicine, just the diplomas sound kind of different and the high-school). thx in advance for any help

Congrats Math Man...I'm really happy about your good news. Does anyone else have a case complete yet?

As far as the DS-230, I left the names of the institutions in the foreign langueage (portuguese in my case) because even though the name can be translated that is the actual name of the institution. As far as the type of degree or what ever earned...I just wrote diploma if graduation occured unless there was an actuall degree earned. I would translate this part as everything should be in english except for proper names (like cities, intstitutions, peoples names, etc. that you do not translate). Not an expert but this is how I completed the DS-230 for my spouse. Hope it helps.

Waiting to get IIN in the mail and pay AOS and IV fee bills online. By the way, do I need the send in the AOS and DS-230 packages separately after I pay?

I also left the name of my wife's college in Spanish. For her degree, my wife told me to put "Licientura." I think that's the equivalent of a Bachelor's degree in Mexico. At any rate, her DS-230 was accepted with no RFEs.

Most people send their AOS and DS-230 packages separately, but I think that's mainly because they tend to have the AOS package ready to go first. I sent mine separately. If I recall correctly, the "Attention" lines in the addresses given on the Document Cover Sheets are slightly different. (I think the AOS attention line says "Attn. CMR AOS" and the DS-230 attention line says just "Attn. CMR". But please verify that--I'm going from memory.)

I sent my DS 230 packet today so I will await the completion of my case.

I also sent my AOS and DS 230 packages separately as well. You are correct that the ATTN lines on the cover sheets for AOS and DS 230 are slightly different. The AOS line does read Attn: CMR AOS and the DS 230 reads Attn: CMR. Not sure that it makes a difference at all. I'm praying that the documents are accepted without any RFEs. The Ling-Che short cut was invaluable in helping me get through the documents at NVC!!!

Thanks for the info about the IIN. I have heard many stories of how difficult it is to get over the phone. Good to know the AOS invoice comes quickly and waiting doesn' t really add too much to the wait. I'm a long way from that stage but it's nice to hear some positive info for a change. Congrats on the completion of your case.
