For the record VW - I did not call Palin a moron in this case. It's pretty obvious it was just a sign of being tired, or just mistating. But hey, paint all of us with one brush :(.

Lord knows, conservatives are not painted with a broad brush here, Laura. If it doesn't apply to you, sorry. No sweat. But the number of folks it does apply to is not negligible.

I'm waiting for the kind of nasty remarks about Obama's faux pas that come so freely about Palin.

Or excuses,

Or silence.

Waiting . . . :clock:

OK - I will take your bait then. Using my supposed excuse that Palin might be a bit tired and mixing words - Obama has been at this for 2 years, while Palin has been at this a month.

Does it really have to be a big deal? TBH it's really a silly gaffe - BOTH of them.

I agree with you, but it's clear that there is a double standard on this board that allows Obama to slide for everything while anything on the McCain/Palinn side is fair game for demeaning. I just thought I'd even the playing field a bit.

As you can see, Obama's gaffe isn't getting the same treatment that Palin's got. The term "hypocrisy" comes to mind.

I disagree - it was brought up at the time he said that by those who oppose Obama.

It just appears the majority (or perhaps the more prolific) are Obama supporters, therefore it might appear to be less leeway given to the GOP ticket. *shrugs*

Additionally - the amount of mistakes Palin has made since she was named VP candidate sets her up for (honestly) bigger laughs each time she messes up. She does not disappoint those who hope to hear another gaffe. That;s why it gets so much attention, IMHO - she does it again & again.

The mainstream media has shown itself to be biased for Obama, so it doesn't publicize gaffes from him or from Biden. Just because you don't see them doesn't mean they don't make them. By posting Obama's "57 states" gaffe, I've just about killed this thread because few here want to ridicule him. At least they're smart enuf to see that continuing to ridicule Palin in light of the Obama gaffe is hypocritical. That's an improvement.

Northwest (where she is from)

Actually, hardly anyone would refer to the Northwest as Alaska. Sounds a lot like the New England "diarrhea of the mouth".

... Northeast .. honest mistake. In the grand scheme of things ... who cares ... unless you are an experienced expert in public speaking ... and VJ is a great forum to display your public speaking prowess ... post links so we can be like you and judge ... show us you got better stuff for public speeches in various localities so we can better accept your diarrhea of the mouth criticisms of others.

Her entire speeches are dull, stupid, simplistic, and cater to people who only listen to aphorisms and Faux News.

This is merely status quo for her, if you've paid attention at all to her speeches, rather than try to defend it like a Palin cheerleader.

Wait, so your suggestion is make fun of Obama for Palin's "gaffe"?

Sounds smart to me! Not.
