I wonder though - there was a story in the paper today that shows a downturn in the polls for him due to the perception that he's running a negative campaign with an focus on personal attacks.

You mean, the McCain campaign attack ads? Yes, i agree that a lot of people are tired of the dirty politics and want to hear the real issues.

i also heard though, one of the McCain advisors on one of the morning shows, arguing that dollar for dollar Obama has outspent McCain on negative attack propaganda. i don't know if that's true or not because i really don't see many commercials etc from either candidate, at least not on the Brooklyn tv circuit.... but it leaves me with the question:

How come the RNC is pissed that Obama has cash and can spend it? Since when do they hate on guys who have some dollars and are not afraid to spend them?

100% of McCain's current TV spend is negative. In Obama's case it's less than 50%.

The difference is that Obama is massively outspending McCain in total TV spend. So yes, the nominal dollar comparison is true but misleading.

i see a lot more media hype about mccain denigrating obama. the only thing i heard about mccain that came from obama was the comment about him being too old to use a computer, which is true...

Really don't want to watch a slug fist either, but at least a debate, not a dance. The word "verbatim" has been redefined by these two, could be the same old stuff repeated word for word with exactly the same identical intonation as the last two debates. Jon Stewart caught on that last night and made a video out of it. Sure trying to get a lot of mileage from those very first speeches, it's terrible to have a memory that last longer than five minutes, but maybe that is how they perceive the American public. An insult. Same old ####### over and over again.
