:dance:Received our Interview Appointment NOA (I-485) from Jax the other day. On it there is what amounts to a checklist. What a CLUSTER! Among the things required for the interview are the following 3 items:

All documentation establishing your eligibility for Lawful Permanent Resident status.

Any immigration-related documentation ever issued to you, including any Employment Authorization Document (EAD) and any Authorization for Advance Parole (Form 1-512).

All travel documents used to enter the United States, including Passports, Advance Parole documents (1-512) and 1-94s (Arrival/Departure Document).

Now for the stupid question part, does "all documentation establishing" include the statutory regulations, for it is these very documents that do indeed establish Tanya's eligibility for Lawful Permanent Resisdent Status? I am assuming that they do not need a copy of their own regulations and I am probably reading too much into this. I have copied every NOA, e-mail, screen shot and other document they have sent or made available to us including their I-766. I am assuming that this should meet their requirements. Am I correct in my assumption?

Thanks in advance fellow VJ'ers :help:

Calling an illegal alien an "undocumented immigrant" is like calling a drug dealer an "unlicensedregistered pharmacist". (because somebody gives a damn)

This would be the marriage certificate. Based on the dates on the marriage certificate and the I-94, it will result that she is eligible based on marriage to the US petitioner within 90 days from entry.

10-Apr-08...Filing date for I-130/AOS/EAD/AP

02-May-08...Biometrics

31-Jul-08...EAD Card received

15-Sep-08...Interview (APPROVED)

27-Sep-08...GC received

03-Aug-10...Filed I-751 (Removal of Conditions)

06-Aug-10...NOA 1-yr Extension Letter

10-Sep-10...Biometrics

02-Dec-10...ROC approved! (Card production ordered)

I see by your timeline that you have just experienced this very thing. You can understand my frustration with their "checklist". I have checked off everything on the list including the marriage cert. Made sure I have the originals and translations of all docs with copies even though I have already submitted 90% of it. Long drive to Jax to find something missing.

Thanks for your input.

We just went through the same thing - the documentation that we brought were copies of everything we ever filed (I130 package, I139F package, I485 package) the NOA2's for the I130 and I129F, Visa and I94 in the passport, and the original documents (passport, marriage book, marriage book originally stamped translations, my and her passport/birth certificate, my original divorce decrees) to show that yes I am a US Citizen, I was eligible to marry, we were legally married and this is the official documentation we have, this is my wife, here's where she is from, etc. Remember this is the first and only time anyone from CIS gets a chance to review all of the original documents and compare them to what you send in, it is a very quick and painless process and they return them all right back to you during the interview. Everything we brought (even though we had copies as well) they had copies right in front of them so my impression was they were doing a quick "true copy" check just as a final review of all the papers in the A-File. My wife brought her EAD card, he looked at it but returned it to her as well. Good luck to you

i don't get it.

hi,

1. marriage certificate

2. if you have EAD, bring it because they will get it back at time of interview. AP if you have as well. i'm assuming you don't have them otherwise, you wouldn't be asking about this. if you didn't apply for them, it's ok.

3. you wife's passport containing US visa and I-95.

goodluck.
