Hi, we are currently stationed in Germany in the military, and I need to change my address with USCIS. However, their website only lets you do it if you are living in the US, and says to contact the consulate over here for details on how to do it if you reside overseas. Well, the consulate NEVER ever pick up their phone, so I am asking for anyones help on here!!

Thank you!

I don't think you need to change your address because you are residing overseas. I don't understand why you need to change your address. Do you have to file for something?

I had a similar situation in that I was unable to switch my address from a foreign one to a domestic one using the website because of zipcode issues. I had to write the service center processing the case. I never heard back from them and was told on the phone that the only way I could confirm that the change had occurred was to go to my local USCIS office. It appeared that it hadn't been changed and the woman there called and requested they do it. Then, to confirm after I went home it I just kept calling the number given on the website until I got someone competent enough to know how to check to verify my address.

Anyway, I still can't believe that the computer system for an immigration authority can't handle foreign zipcodes, but I guess that's the government for you...

I think Frankfurt has a foreign USCIS post...

YMMV

Frankfurt are particularly un-awesome at answering the phone, but the voicemail should give you the details of the times they are open to receive calls (if your name begins with blah, it's Monday morning or Tuesday afternoon, etc etc.)

Good luck!
