hello guys I am a new member I have some few questions,I just got my driver's license recently how come it expires next year? Isn't it too soon? I thought DL is valid for 4 years or so.I did take a look at my greencard both will expired at the same time. I am going to renew my conditional GC within 90 days of expiration which will be next year.I am hoping i will receive my new GC before the expiration date of my Driver's license. My husband let his DL expired he had to take the written and driving tests again,I wouldn't be happy to start over.Back to DMV ,why they didn't ask my friend's green card but i was being asked,i had to show it.He even asked me if i was an american citizen.Incase my GC will be delayed hope not ,how should i renew my DL without GC in hand?pls any inputs will very much appreciated.Thank You!!

Your DL expires at the same time as your GC because they issued it for only as long as you can show legal presence. When you file to lift conditions, you will get and extention for 1 year. You can use that extention to get another DL that will also only be good until the end of the extention.

the extention is automatic as it is your NOA1 from the I-751 submission....

YMMV
