It seems funny when I was stressing out about whether to staple my w2s LOL and here I am only 1 week until the interview...

I am also going to have DHL write a letter explaining the situation as well. We have 3 lbs of evidence sitting in customs!

He said that he talked to a guy that worked for the embassy for awhile and he said that he won't even need the letter... but I never trust that, I always want to be sure. I told him to call the embassy and he said no, that if he does they may tell him to reschedule and he loses the $700 for his flight. So he is going to chance it and just show up with all the info. Worse case... he gets a week vaction in Turkey

sorry to hear that joye!!!!! Is it US customes that its stuck in or Iranian??..............and i had a similar situation and it took 10 days to clear so I would advise that you call nvc and ask them to resend and if possible re fax the info to you!!!! best of luck and hope everything goes we!! Did you try to possible self generate the medical exam material so that he can go thru the exam........Maybe someone that applied to the same embasy can fax you thier coppy and you white out thier info and type your info!!!!!!!!!! Just a suggestion............Hope everything goes well:(

Ok, here is what happened with DHL... ugh

I mailed the package on 5/25/06 marking it documents, no value. It left on the 26th...made it wilmington oh and thats it.

I called and spoke with about 15-20 people even found the number to the wilmington office. They said customs had it.. so I asked that they mail it back because as of the 1st there isn't enough time for him to get it before he leaves to turkey. I got the package back yesterday and scanned his interview letter and emailed it to him, so he has that at least. I called DHL back and was told that whoever had the package must not have known that the ban was lifted on Iran 3 weeks ago... which means that someone sat on this package and it wasn't customs for 6 days. They had ripped the package open, all of my documents were out of order and inside the package was a letter from DHL saying that Iran is a restricted area. So!! I then sent an email off telling them that it was their mistake and they then said "oh no his name was found on the Office of Foreign Asset Control"...uh huh. So I called that office and she said to look on their webpage and she said there are no names even close to my husbands. So, now DHL was trying to cover up their mistake again.

I have never had a problem with DHL before, but it really IRKS me that all they wanted to do was pass the buck!! Especially when the documents were so very important and they were aware.

Ok, anyone think I should email the consulate and tell them what has happened because some of our evidence was in the package, or should I just scan everything and send it to my husband and let him explain?

Wow that sucks................I think i would scan it to your husband & also write a letter in with it to explain what has happened, or maybe you could email the embassy & see if they will accept you emailing them the stuff??

I will send a letter with it showing the emails from DHL regarding this package. He has alot of our evidence so maybe that will be enough only 3 days left guess we will know on Monday night!

yeah scan it to him, he might have enough already , so there's none of the realy important stuff like marrigae certificate & stuff, does he already have that stuff???...................

Yes he has the important stuff like the marriage certificate. However the consulate has the orginals of all the documents which they should return at the interview. I did scan him copies of the I-864 and the NOA1 and NOA2 for the I-130. Now I will try to scan some of the evidence that I have like phone cards and plane tickets.

I was thinking about you today and was hoping for some good stuff for you ! Excellent news !

I would write a letter regarding the incident and fax it over to Ali, just so there is some sort of back up.

I am sorry you had to go through this stress, but I am happy that it's over...
