Hello All,

This is the sponsor typing. My Fiancé and I are really confused about the income requirements and co-sponsor route.

We just got our NOA2 and I am beginning to worry about the next steps of the process.

My Fiancé is from Manila, Philippines and I just read online in a few places that the US Embassy in Manila does not accept anything except the petitioners financial support information. IS THIS TRUE? Do they not allow a co-sponsor? Are we out of luck if I do not meet the poverty guidelines?

My parents are more than happy to file as a sponsor for her and easily meet the financial requirements.

So, will she be denied? Will they accept my parents as the sponsor or co-sponsor?

Thanks,

Tyson Stockton

Please clarify. Does that mean she will be denied based on my income level? What other options do I have, if any?

I thought I had it all figured out until I found out the Manila Embassy was different.

Thanks,

-Tyson

Ok thanks. I have been getting very mixed information. It is frustrating us. I guess we will submit everything and hope for the best!

If you do not meet the income requirements alone, then, of course, the visa cannot be granted.

Haole already answered your question. He said the USEM in Manilla DOES accept co-sponsors, meaning that if your income alone doesn't suffice and your co-sponsors does, then you should not have any problems.

OHH my bad. I misread her post. I was thinking so negatively I read DOES NOT instead of DOES accept co-sponsorship. Sorry about that guys. Thanks again for the info. I feel better now and also a bit retarded.

Thanks again,

-Tyson

Happens to the best of us.

You must be feeling better now that you know they accept co-sponsors. I am a full-time student and worried like hell as well until I knew FOR SURE that the embassy in Bangkok accepted co-sponsors. Now the crazy thing is that literally a week after my fiance was granted her visa, the embassy started to disallow co-sponsors.
