When I did my thread about why vote for Obama, hardly anyone here knew why they were voting for him either.

Ironically, most of the people who are active talk in depth about Obama's plans, his tax plan, his foreign policy pertaining to Israel, Iraq, Iran, Pakistan, North Korea, Antarctica, and Atlantis, his record on promoting an ever-evolving disease treatment/prevention with stem cell research, his cap-and-trade plan regarding polluting emissions, and on and on. However, they were smart and didn't fall for your bait. In cases where people did post, you basically told them their reasons weren't good enough. If I were them I'd have not posted either, or at least not posted seriously. Your thread was a joke.

And no one has to live up to the "VW" standard of voting. Given your refusal to actually answer how Mickey Mouse can walk into a precinct and vote in Ohio, but not stop in claiming ACORN "voter fraud", I'm sure you fail your own litmus tests, when applied to yourself.

It was no joke. It was very telling. I read this board every day and I don't see much depth about candidate's positions, if any at all. The best we got most times is ad hominems and silliness. Most threads must be bait.

You can't even get right how voting works in Ohio. What is it exactly that should be admired about your standards of reasons behind voting for a candidate? I see none at all.

If you look across the entire political spectrum, you see people chanting and cheerleading for one of the two major party candidates, only some really knowing very much about specifics, just about all overlooking the part that shows they don't favor the 300 million citizens first, but those who help pay for their ticket to power. Is there something surprising about this?

Someone emailed the audio to us of this. I find it sad, but I have to agree that it can happen on both sides. I mean, there are people on both sides who don't seem to know what is going on in politics or in the world and just see a name or a face and pick that person. (on a separate issue, like people thinking Russia attacked the US state Georgia)

Or they have people tell them who they are to choose. Whether these people picked him because he's black, that almost doesn't bother me in a way(they see an awesome opportunity for the first black Pres), but also maybe they always vote Democrat and just know he is the Dem, and don't actually know the differences in views between parties. There are people I know of who voted one way for decades, then when they finally got around to looking at views, realized they were voting the wrong party the whole time!! People sometimes just vote the way their parents did or community does without looking at one piece of political info. It is a little shocking that they went along with the whole pro-life and Iraq thing...when it's really obvious Obama doesn't have those views and they just didn't want to sound like they didn't know anything about it. I am sure you could find some hillbillies somewhere who would be ignorant of why they picked McCain too besides that he is white or that they always just vote for the same party. Although abortion is a hot topic and I'd be surprised if someone went along with thinking that McCain was pro-choice and wanted to pull the troops out very soon or Obama is pro-life and wants to stay in Iraq, lol.

 That old chestnut again, eh?

Well... you didn't bother to explain why you would vote for the McCain/Palin ticket - outside of general stereotypes about what the Republican party (rather than the McCain campaign) represents.

That was pretty telling also... not that you would admit as much of course. Indeed - if we follow your line of reasoning it would seem that the justification for your vote has as about as much substance as the people you are criticising.

Go figure, eh?

Well, if we're going to rip off Jay Leno, may as well at least be fair:

This McCain supporter, donning his McCain poster, can't name ANY of McCain's policies:

Well thats a first, Howard Stern ripping of Jay Leno :P I am sure John Melendez would have something to say about that

Image people voting blindly. That doesn't happen on both sides.

Also Howard didn't rip anyone off.. Sal did.

but Howard and his team have been talking to the man on the street long before Jay started doing it... Jay is the one to steal that idea from Howard :P

Please produce the post where I used general stereotypes about the Republican party to explain my preference for the McCain/Palin ticket. I'd like to see what you are talking about.

Or you could save time and explain your voting preference and the specific reasons why that choice is in your interest - so that someone like me can't turn around and call you a raging hypocrite for demanding something from other people that you aren't prepared to do yourself.
