As history has shown many times b/f, there is power in numbers. Those of us who are waiting and getting no news from the VSC can cry every day and do nothing or take positive action. Wouldn't it be good to draft a letter with blanks for name, address, receipt number, etc, and several of us who are being impacted now can print, sign, and mail it to at least 4 Congressmen who sit on that committee. Of course, each of us will have to send it to our own reps, too. When the committee of 4 or 5 sends an inquiry, they will repsond, I belive. If anyone else is interested, I can draft the letter by this Fri. Just let me know what you think.--Amor1

If i were the Congressman i will pass a BILL to require every state to have a Service Center so the processing may only take shorter time rather than just VSC & CSC. How about that?

On Oct 19 our case is already 8 mos old and still pending. :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying: :crying:

If you were lucky and got an approval and reunion with your loved one rather quickly; Please refrain from telling people who waited 6+ months just to get out of a service center to "chill out" or to "stop whining" It's insensitive, and unecessary. Once you walk a mile in their shoes you will understand and be heard.

Thanks!

I would get a commitee together, have a few consultants to evaluate their processes and give them a 30 day timeline to get their sh*t together. 1)Hire and train more employees and 2) implement a tracking system that ensures and documents that petitions are adjudicated in the order that they are received.

The goal would be to get petitions adjudicated within 4 months tops! If the problem lies in background checks.. then we should evaluate those processes.

This is my specialty... mainlining processes to improve productivity and compliance. See? they should hire me as a consultant! lol

There are two ways that you can find out who makes up the USCIS oversight committee for the US Senate. You can call your senator's office and request that they email a list to you with the email addresses or you can do an online search, looking uder Senators who sit on the immigration/citizenship oversight committee. Try both methods. I'm waiting for the list from my Congresswoman's office. When I get to work, I'll check this morning. All the best--Amor1

Wow...this is something that has needed to be done for a long time now. Thank you for volunteering to lead us and write the letter.

The most frustrating piece for me was being misled to think that the K3 would get my husband here faster....and in the end the I-130 was approved before the K3...now that is just ridiculous....the K3 is supposed to be a fast track...to reuniting families and the system is completely failing. Actually I think if they just stop the K3 process then the system would be relieved from so many petitions it may actually improve I-130 processing time!!!! Telling people they can file the K3 to get their spouse here faster makes them all file it....who wouldn't? And now they not only have the I-130 but also the K3....double the work. And in the end the I-130's are done first....how can that make one bit of sense? Why isn't anyone doing anything to fix it?????? It IS a very logical question.

Then we move onto the NVC...who did a noble job with processing our petition really fast but then when it came time to getting scheduled for our interview it took over 3 months!! That drove me insane. To finally be through the NVC...after my long frustrating wait at USCIS in Vermont....case complete...and can't do anything....still in the water...nothing....for over 3 months just sitting there waiting for an interview date......and this is not just with Amman....its with many other consulates as well.

Its strange, its mysterious and I am sick of being held outside of a giant steel door of the immigration process. There is no doubt it needs improvement and major improvement. Everyone in the US focuses on the immigration problem we have with people crossing over to the US from Mexico and bringing a boat from Cuba, etc...but I NEVER hear anyone in any political realm discussing how awful the actual immigration process is...how long it takes, how inconsistent it is, how unfair it is, mis-managed and absolutely inexcusable!!!!!

You got my vote, my signature...I'll even take a trip to Washington if I have to....I can see all of us protesting by the Reflection pool holding signs about these issues, maybe we can get it on the news...haha...ROADTRIP!!!!

Deb :star:

I will start working on the draft letter and upload by Friday. If you, or other VJers have additions, just respond, and I'll get them. The point, I think, is to have a letter that several of us send to the members of Congress who sit on the "oversight" committee for USCIS. There is such a committee, and they should know that we followed the guidelines for submitting our petitions very strictly, respecting the work of the USCIS and putting faith in our government's systems. We believed that we would be treated fairly, and that our spouses and children could come here to the United States legally. Most important, we had faith that the process would be humane in terms of the time frame. So far, many of us have seen others get approvals/responses in general, faster than what they assert is their normal, just order--"first in-first out" and therein lies our deepest fears and roots of frustration. Sorry to be long-winded, but I get this way when I think of how long our separations have been. All the best--Amor1

I just got an answer from my congressman. Who is on this commitee? Lets do it!

I was thinking of incorporating a spreadsheet a couple of us are maintaining to show the inconsistencies.

It clearly shows CSC is speeding right along while the VSC is laaaaaging.

Just one more thing.. hee hee doing dishes thinking of ways VSC could improve lol

How long have they been giving the answer " we have hired _____ new employees and once they are trained we are commited....."

Ok, if these are the same employees that were being trained 8 months ago when others got the same answer; perhaps they should scrap them and get new ones. if they arent trained by now, they are never gonna get it! heh Or if the employee turn-over is that high, lets work on HR and employee rentention people!

I guess we all know thats not the real issue.

Another thing:

I was thinking we have been in background checks this whole time. It cant be that process, that is taking so long; CSC gets theirs back timely. They must outsource to the FBI interpol whatever! to get the names cleared. So whats the hold up at VCS?! It certainly isnt background checks, they are coming back for Cali.

Ok, just spouting off, i think im done now.

(too much caffiene tonight)
