Please help! I have asked many questions but I think this is my last.

After talking with many people I was told over the last few days that Detriot is one of the most strict Port of Entries in the USA. Long story short (if you have not read one of my other 100 threads on this).

My dad is dieing, will be dead within 3 weeks according to the DR. My wife and I applied for I-130 visa in March of this year and are waiting for NOA2.

Because of this, I want to show my dad the baby before he passes. My question is, is LAX known for being a strict Port of Entry? I will do anything to show my dad the baby before he dies and want everyones advice.

Thank-you in advance - I hope to buy the ticket tomorrow so please give me your advice...maybe I am over thinking it!? Maybe just fly her direct into detroit but last time she came they questioned her for hours before letting her go and this time she will have a baby with her...

As proof of her return (she doens't have a job and lives with her parrents)

I will bring

-Doctors note of dad dieing

-Doctors Cell phone

-My marriage paper work/phone records/pictures/videos/ etc.

-Finally, my ticket to go to JApan (same flight as wife) in December.

Please give me any advise you have or ideas...

Thanks everyone again and sorry to keep posting messege after messege...last couple weeks have just been sooo difficult. Work - prepare house for baby and wife - take care of dad.

Thank-you again!

Not sure about Detroit because I haven't flew through there before. I have flew through LA 4 times without problem. All they asked was my return ticket.

Ask your wife to bring her bank statement too, that will show that she still have an active account in Japan. Does she has a car under her name? If she does, bring the paperwork along. And also, does your baby have any future appointment with the doctor in Japan, if yes...bring the record/appointment card along.

I don't think you need the marriage paper work, the POE officer might think that she will stay to adjust her status.

Good luck!

I vote for LA. I have never had any issues with LA since they see more immigration applicant variety in categories and I think they are really easy going and very understanding.

PS. JFK is another good POE.

Wish you good luck.

I'd say bring as much information as you absolutely can...

She should bring everything she can think of to prove she's just visiting... The POE may be nicer, but the decision rests soley with that officer you get that day so YMMV (your mileage may vary).

Since she doesn't have a job I'd have return tickets, cell phone contracts (to show obligations in host country), bank statements, upcoming commitments, hell I'd throw in statements from her parents.

Better to have more than you need instead of less!

You can always disclose what you have in stages... If they seem unhappy add "we also have..." until they are happy that way you don't need to seem overly prepared either.

Good luck.

Hi,

If I were you i would choose LAX as your port of entry. Because Detroit is the most strict than other state. I know they are cause my last POE is Detroit and it took me 2 hours there to wait their approvals and they questioned me a lot. ...So u better choose other state as POE.

Hope this will help you. God bless

I think we have finally decided on Detroit. I think it is just best to do what we would normally do and just follow the rules. We are not breaking any rules...my dad is dieing, and I have paper work to prove he is dieing and that we have every intent to return to Japan. I think at this point I will just leave it up to God and trust him to deliver her safely to the USA.

Thank-you everyone for your help, I will keep you posted but I am confident that being honest and just doing it the right way will not back fire on us...

Wish us luck though!
