Question I-864?

Hey everybody! i Just got done talking to an operator at NVC. I had asked her about the Authorization for Release of Federal Tax Data. She told me that I can send either that form( authorization one) or my taxes of 2007- 1040. I was shocked because according to what i know, you are required to send 3 yrs of taxes. she toldme i do not have to send my 3 yr taxes at all if i send the authorization form. hummmm! I just want to make sure. Im not saying shes wrong but I really want to make this clear because I am trying to gather all the documents. It just didnt seem right to me for some reason. Can someone please verify that one more time-

Sending in the most recent tax return info is required.

Sending in the 3 years of tax info has always been optional.

You should be fine following her instructions.

If the USC spouse has been filling taxes for the last 3 years, you just need to submit the tax return for 2007. That's what my husband did and we have been approved without any problem.

As Ling Ling mentioned, 1 last year is enough and 3 years optional but since individual circumstances differ from case to case, I would send as much documents as I think it will help clear up any doubts and it make sense to me.

THANKS EVERYBODY FOR YOUR SUGGESTIONS! THEY REALLY HELPED ME MAKE A DECISION THANKS ALL AGAIN! I WILL DEFINATELY SEND THREE YEARS AS WELL AS THE TAX TRANSCRIPT! I JUST CALLED 800-829-1040 AND ASKED THEM FOR THE TAX TRANSCRIPT AND THEY TOLD ME THEY WILL MAIL IT AND I SHALL RECEIVE IT IN 8-10 DAYS! AGAIN THANKS SO MUCH FOR UR HELP!

Judging from my experience, if you submit only the required information and your recent transcript is solid, you'll less likely run into problems. IOW -- only send in the most recent transcript if you make well over the 125%. The more documentation you provide the greater chance of an RFE because they misinterpreted something.

read the comments above that every1 had send to me. I believe that u should definately send in the copy of tax transcript as well as ur 2-3 yr taxes. thats what im going to do. did u call to get ur transcript? like i had said earlier, when i called nvc the lady told me that i can send this and its not necessary for me to send 3 yr w2 forms. the choice is urs but to b in the same side, do send all that. good luck!
