Time Warner - 6 MBPS up and 512+++ (tested at 768) down = 19.95 per month.... Not bad.

Since pricing and service vary by location, I do not believe there can be a valid answer to this question except..."least expensive for the most bandwidth"

Yeah...free from your neighbor is hard to beat even if it's not the fastest.

Charter at 10 Mbps. very happy

"The fact that we are here today to debate raising America’s debt limit is a sign of leadership failure. It is a sign that the U.S. Government can’t pay its own bills. It is a sign that we now depend on ongoing financial assistance from foreign countries to finance our Government’s reckless fiscal policies."

I don't pay much, $19.99, without a contract, for DSL, another $10 for phone, so, yeah, it's fine price-wise, but I'd also like a better speed.

Since we're planning on moving closer to the city I'm specifically looking for areas that are more modernized in their internet infrastructure. There are areas that have, for instance, Verizon Fiber Optics (FIOS) laid down, so I'd be looking for something like that, as fiber can be used for telephone, internet, and FIOS TV (the latter I don't care much for).

Is the additional 4 mbsp worth double the TW price? Time Warner cable TV sux, given the ridiculous amount of commercials on almost every channel (minus the movie channels and on demand movies). However, the TW Road Runner deal at 19.95 for 6 mbps seems really good.

Thoughts?

We are limping along with Verizon DSL about 20 bucks a month on top of the phone bill. It is faster than I am paying for, by a hair, and very reliable. I would love to go with cable but am wayyyyyyyy too cheap to pay $45 bucks or more a month...

Ours sucks donkey dong.

Wild Blue Satellite.

$70 a month for 50kps download at best. And has a monthly bandwidth limit of 12gb download and 3gb upload.

Unfortunately our only other option is dial up which got us connected at a blazing 14.4kps!
