I guess for context, a slightly more up to date list. This is based on our experience:

I129F: $455 (Actually we got in before the increase)

I134 (AOS): $0

Embassy visa fee: $120 (London)

Medical: $250 (London, approximate by today's exchange rate, no vaccinations)

Travel to Embassy: $350 (YMMV, literally)

Miscellaneous: $150 (Notary services, copies of certificates, photos, clearances, visa delivery, etc, etc. YMMV)

Total: $1325. Ouch. Apart from the initial $455, it's spread out over 8-10 months though so not all at once.

Is there a charge for the K2 child visa too? Is it the same as the K1? I am checking the websites and adding up the costs, I have no issues at all paying them but it is nice to know that I need to budget $5,000 right out the gate. Seems that every form that they want needs to have money with it. Oddly they asked all this stuff on the I-129f application and now I do it all over again for the K-1 visa paperwork.

I think the costs ought to be a sticky here. Even the government sites only provide links and not actual costs until you dig deep enough.

The K1 petition and the visa application itself are two separate things, run by two separate entities (USCIS/Dept of Homeland Security and the consulate/Dept of State). That's the reason for the separate forms and fees for each step of the process.

You can add a child to the I 129f petition for no extra cost, but the child must have it's own visa; so any fees associated with a visa at the consulate apply to both the parent and the child.

Hello everyone,

I am new to this site and had a question for all of you who have already gone through the k1 process. How much does it cost to process the k1 fiance visa from start to finish? I am a bit confused because I have looked up info. and they all say different things. For example, the form DS-156, is this paid for in fiance's country or while in the US?

I just wanted to know if anyone could give an estimate of how much they spent to file all the paperwork.
