My two stepsons just received their AOS interview appointment for July 13, 2006 in Memphis. They entered the US on a K2 visa

If anyone has had this interview, I would appreciate any information. I'm not sure what type of questions they might ask or what documents, proof, they might need. I'm sure it is different from the K1 interview my wife had which went very smooth.

My current plans are to have their... Birth Certificate, our marriage license, passport, updated I-864. Should not need medical since it's been less than a year since medical for K2. Don't know about supplement?

They have already received EAD, AP, SSN, all with no trouble.

Thanks for any thoughts..

ps... A big thanks to all of you that gave me great help on my K2 age-out potential.

:goofy: NatHug - Keep us all informed on your interview. Maybe Memphis is up-to-date on the K2 better than Atlanta is, but again, may sure you take those court documents with you. I would even make copies and give it to him to KEEP in your sons' files in case he doesn't approve the AOS right away (as our guy did not approve my husband's for 3 weeks trying to figure out my step-son's) and he forgets what you said or showed him. You should have no problem though.

They did ask my step-son the exact same things they asked my husband. They started with basics: name, address, phone number, place of employment (if they are working), when they came over, etc. - nothing they won't know. They he went down some checklist that we must have filled out before (ha ha - can't even remember it) and asked stuff like have you ever been arrested, been a prostitute (yea, he asked Daryl and my husband), ever been a terrorist, etc. Our officer never asked me and my husband any of the "relationship" questions you read about them asking. He only asked how we met. That's it.

Anyhow, good luck and let us know in July. :goofy:

Thanks for the information.. I did recieve the documents, I have printed them and have them in our file to take.. Can't thank you enough.. it takes one worry off our minds..

One other question is you have time.. Who can go into the interview?.. I hope that my wife (their mother) and I can both go with them.. I don't think that my wife knows enough about the process to challenge anything if necessary.

Again thanks and I will update you after THE DAY..

:goofy: I would assume she could go with you. I take it she had her AOS approved and now it is their turn? Well my husband and step-son did theirs together as they came over together. Anyhow, they called my step-son's name and I stood up and said "can we all go in as his father is here for an interview too" and the officer said yes, which is what I was told anyhow, its just that they just called his name. :goofy:

My son is 17, and all they asked him was his name, address. Then asked him some of the yes/no questions on the AOS form. Then I was asked to show his birth cert, and that was it. Oh, they showed him the signature on the AOS form, and asked him if that was his signature. That was it for him.

Good luck :D
