One thing I can say for Palin is we finally have an honest person running for office.

omg, i'm not sure i can marry you

Guess I need to try to get Palin then.

She's just out there taking one for the boys.

One of the reasons they picked her to begin with. She's eye-candy and she's dumb.

Its hard to fathom the substance of her popularity - given that as soon as she opened her mouth on TV McCain's campaign shed points in the polls.

If McCain loses this election I hope she becomes the party Pariah, gets blamed for the loss and buries her political career. I don't think I could handle another 4 years of folksy speeches and press conferences if she were to become Pres.

Bush made a joke of the presidency with his awful dialogs, I can't imagine she'd do it any favors.

That would be so mean, don't ya know?

But not really all that surprising coming from the mindset that scapegoats individuals for the sins of others.

Wishing you ten-fold that which you wish upon all others.

Now a Palin-Bush comparison... man...

You betcha!

Lady, people aren't chocolates. Do you know what they are mostly? Bastards. ####### coated bastards with ####### filling. But I don't find them half as annoying as I find naive bobble-headed optimists who walk around vomiting sunshine.

I'm soul searching to give Palin at least some credit here...

At least she doesn't have 4,000+ US soldier deaths and countless tens of thousands of Iraqi civilian deaths on her conscience.

i still don't get it.. as my leader, I don't want a dude that I can find in the pub next door and have a beer with, I want a prepared person who can be a leader.. not a freakin john doe.. I don't know who told the mass of idiots.. that voting for 'the guy (or the girl) next door' is a good thing.. remember the edsel?? following what the mass says is not always a good idea...

although whoever came with that idea is a genious.. it made the american electorate really dumb, and make them pick the 'nicest guy' not the guy with the best proposals, a freakin popularity contest!! Oh I vote for Bush because He likes fried chicken!!.. another move to make intellectual, prepared people as evil.. and 'common' as good.. for one of the most important nations in the world

This puts its it pretty well

The decision to pick an unknown evangelical governor as John McCain's running mate has succeeded beyond Steve Schmidt's wildest dreams. Way beyond. Sarah Palin has perfect aim when throwing red meat to partisan crowds and whipping them into a frenzy to the point when people at rallies yell: "terrorist" and "kill him" about Obama. Then Palin can conveniently say she did not say that but the point is made anyway. Of course when this happens she could say: "Somebody grab that guy and drag him out of here. I don't want people like that at my rallies" but she never does. She winks and basks. The trouble for Palin and now McCain is that this frenzy has been widely reported and condemned and it is turning off crucial independent voters in droves. The featured commentary at intrade.com is about Palin, saying: "Rove's creation has turned into a mob baying for blood." Even leading conservative columnists don't like this. Kathleen Parker has called for her to drop off the ticket. The bettors agree that Rove III is not working. Ten shares of McCain stock cost $23 this morning. This means that if you are absolutely convinced McCain will win, you can invest, say, $23,000 now and collect $100,000 in 3 weeks if McCain wins.

The consequence of this whole campaign could be far reaching. If Obama wins and the exit polls show independents voted overwhelmingly for him, the pundits are going to lay the blame at Palin's high heels and advise the GOP to forget the evangelicals and run candidates with financial expertise (like Mitt Romney) in the future. Needless to say, the evangelicals, who finally got one of their own on the ticket, won't take this well and the ensuing battle will tear the Republican Party to bits.
