Recently it has been discovered that my mother's lung cancer has gotten worse. It's stage 4, meaning its spread to other parts of the body. When my fiance was here with me, he helped me take care of her and was my emotional support and everything. I don't really have anyone else. And it's just my mother and me that live here. We rent. Is there anything I can do to get him here faster? They're stopping chemo in february and Im a september filer ><. Theyre not sure what cld happen. I can't really do i here without him and taking care of her and everything right now is such a strain, even my own health has started to decline. So i'm just wondering is there anything i can do? She's the only parent I have left, too.

Firsty I'm very sorry to hear about your mother. I can only imagine the grief you must be going through.. the only thing I could suggest is if he spends time with you right up until before the interview stage. I'm sorry I didn't check your timeline before posting, but you should be okay for him visiting but he has to go back for the interview. Once again I'm truly sorry and wish every energy and support God gives upon you. (F)

If you look on the USCIS website there is an accelerated process. I do not know the details but it has worked for some vj members. Check it out. good luck and may God bless

You can always try to see what they can do but since he's from a country that participates in the VWP, he can always come stay with you a while while he gets his interview for his K1 visa.

You could always try. I have to agree though that I have not seen an expedites for USC family emergencies.

I am sorry.

Life's just a crazy ride on a run away train

You can't go back for what you've missed

So make it count, hold on tight find a way to make it right

You only get one trip

So make it good, make it last 'cause it all flies by so fast

You only get one trip

Hi Lisa,

I'm so sorry to hear about your mother. I was in a very similiar situation last year. I moved back to Bermuda (from Canada) to care for my mother. She had stage 4 colon cancer. My fiance's support was one of the main things that kept me sane during that time. He's the US citizen in our case. He was able to visit often under the VWP and thankfully spend some time getting to know my Mom before she passed away. When he wasn't able to be here, we spent time every day playing WoW together and talking over vent.

I've no idea if USCIS will expedite your case but it can't hurt to try. In the meantime, I hope Tim can take advantage of the VWP and come visit you.

If you ever need to vent to someone, feel free to PM me. I've got some insight into what you are going through.

You're in my prayers,

Catherine

Yeah the only issue we have is money. And if he comes back so soon he cld lose his job and not have money to come back from not working. And he refuses to let me pay any lol. But I know it sounds lameish but if I can show my health declining since he left that would be a situation maybe? idk ill call uscis and see what happens.

Yeah, New Zealand is not cheap or quick to travel to/from. I can relate. :(

It wont hurt to at least try to expedite your case with uscis. USCIS Expedite Criteria Remember, they are going to care more about you and your own health/circumstances than your family members.

Well the part I was referring to before was different than what I just found out >.<. Now I might be needing surgery for gallstones or I might have pancreatitis. Not quite sure how that happened. But good going me. >.< Idk what parts to mention now or If I should mention all of it? And now I'm not sure who is going to be taking care of my mom if I'm out awhile . =(

Any suggestions?

Im sorry to hear about your mother, I recently had a family tragedy and my congressman requested and expedite for me due to the circumstances, that was almost 4 months ago. My fiance still isnt here , they still have him in administrative processing. I do understand how hard it is to face such a difficult time in your life without the emotional and physical support of your SO. All you can do is try to stay stong.
