My father recently became US citizen in Oct 2008. He had applied for " I - 130 IMMIGRANT PETITION FOR RELATIVE, FIANCE(E) " for my mother, younger brother ( Current age 19 ) and me ( current age 28 ) in 2004 while he was green card holder. His petition for us was approved and priority date is Dec 2004 - India.

As mentioned above, I have the following questions:

1. Since my father is now US Citizen, what is the process to change the category for our petition for immediate relative of US citizens ?

2. Based on current processing times, how long would it take for my mother and younger brother to immigrate to USA who is currently under 21 ?

3. My current age is 28 and unmarried. How long would it take for me to immigrate to US ?

4. Does USCIS automatically change the category of our petition or would my father need to inform about his naturalization to USCIS ?

Would anyone will be able to help us with our situation ?

Any opinion would be highly appreciated.

Thank you in advance

Your mother and brother will become "immediate relative" of your father, mening there is no more waiting time for them.. except how long it takes to process the paperwork, get interview scheduled...

You'll be in 1st family category. At the moment visas are available to those who were petitioned before May 2002... No way to tell when it will reach Dec 2004... maybe in 2-4 years. You can look at the archived Visa Bulletins and see how fast that category has been progressing
