Got back from Russia on Oct 1 and was still groggy from jet lag when Hubby called and said he has an appointment for the interview on Nov 20!!! Now I'm trying to put together the financial support package which I'll FedEx to him before the end of Oct. I don't have the time or energy to go to all of my banks and ask for "letters" confirming my accounts. Can I just submit my banking statements with the account numbers blacked out? Also a question for those who have been through the Moscow interview already; do I need to fill out both the I-134 AND the I-864? Does the embassy want MY original divorce papers along with a copy, or just a copy? Finally i read a guide that says our interview packet should include the original I-129F approval notice, is a copy OK?

You might want to post these questions on the K3 forum.

Provide your spouse with copies and originals of the divorce document(s). The embassy should keep only copies. Be sure to have an additional "original", certified copy of your divorce documents or at least be able to get it since you may need it at AOS.

A copy of your NOA2 approval notice for the I-129F is fine.

Its a I-134 for now; you'll do the I-864 at AOS.

I provided copies of bank statements. It is wise to blank out account numbers.

Congratulations on your trip. Get some sleep.

Ah.... isn't the whole purpose of giving them bank statements so they can verify you have the funds in them you say you have? And how could they do that if you blacked them out?

Not saying you shouldn't do it, and obviously it's OK (see above) but I was under the impression you were submitting your papers for "verification"......

Also, they don't need more than one bank. One bank is more than enough. Remember, this is to show you have money (125% of the poverty level) not to prove you're rich.

Ensure your beneficiary makes and brings with them to the States a copy of the DS-3025 (vaccination form)

If the government is going to force me to exercise my "right" to health care, then they better start requiring people to exercise their Right to Bear Arms. - "Where's my public option rifle?"

I am a little nervous about how they will view my support criteria because I just started working here in the states and my first paycheck is dated Aug 14, 2008. Also my 2007 tax form showed a total income of $5000 because I was living in Russia for the last 5 years and didn't work or file taxes (hubby supported me and paid Russia taxes). I have a checking and savings that meet the 1 year 125% of the poverty level but I've read several guidebooks that recommend showing you have enough money to cover 5 years of that amount. I'm afraid if the embassy interviewer considers my income not stable enough (due to my working only 3 months so far) that we will be required to get a sponsor which in our case is impossible. So I'm including in my packet my IRA, pension, and CD.

I will go crazy if we get denied at the interview! The waiting so far has already made me a little nuts! :clock:

Don't sweat it. They can see what you've done over the past couple years and what you will do in the future. You have the means to support yourself and him, and that's all they're looking for.
