Oh My GOSH!! Am I screwed?

Ok I am packing my bags and paperwork and just reviewed my NOA2 Original Form. It says that the Approval Notice is valid from 2/1 - 6/1, 2006. Our interview is scheduled for June 2... one day after the NOA2 expires. Will this prevent us from being approved????

Dont panic, you are not screwed. The consular at the embassy has the authority to extend the petition. Call them or email them. Good luck.

Call the consulate. Tell them about the discrepancy in the dates, they will probably reschedule the appointment for the 1st instead of the 2nd. Call tomorrow.

i believe they automatically extend it to the interview time.

Chances are good they'll automatically extend the validity through your interview date without any intervention on your part. You can call them to verify if it makes you feel more comfortable.

What if my petition expires?

Consular officers have the authority to extend the validity of petitions that have expired. Because many petitions often expire before an applicant can be interviewed, officers at the Consulate routinely extend the validity of K-1 petitions

It's the consulate who set your interview date, not you... so you really don't need to worry. They're not going to refuse you on a technicality. The only people who need to actually request an extension is if you're not going to be able to do your interview for a couple of months after the expiry date, like if you're studying abroad and have to fly back for the interview, or if you already have plans for your US fiance to come and visit on X date and you'd really like to be interviewed when they're there so you can travel back together etc.
