IRS sent be the stupid standard tax transcript again

Forget about requesting what HCMC wants because you won't get the stamped from from the IRS. They simply send you the new way of doiung transcripts. They were in my mailbox when I returned last night. So I went through the trouble of filling out the forms for nothing.

If HCMC still wants the now obsolete forms then I am screwed because you CANNOT get them.

Just a suggestion........ is there anyway of getting something in writing from IRS to that effect, just in case? From what I have read that is the procedure for police certificates when they are not available from certain countries, so perhaps it may work the same for the tax transcripts.

Im curious, Who said they needed to be stamped? I would think that as long as it is from the IRS and the form is filled out by them then that is good enough. The form is only obtainable if you fill out the 1046T right?

Do you see any type of control number or reference number on the form that would make it somewhat official?

One other suggestion is: Find a local walk-in IRS office and have them stamp the form.

Matt, I ordered my transcripts around the same time as you, and I received them on Saturday. The same happened to me, I got a newer version, but they are not stamped or say anything about the forms I requested.

It sounds like we all received the same line item and unstamped transcripts back from the IRS. Whether this is the real Form 1722, is yet to be determined, and cannot be by any of us.

I don't know what it is worth to the US Consulate in HCMC, but the only thing stamped that was sent back to me and my co-sponsor (father) from the IRS was the received date stamped on the bottom of the original 4506-T's that we faxed in. It was a red stamp indicating the date of receipt via fax. Also I had a handwritten "OK" next to my name and address in block #3 of the form.

Perhaps the original faxed and "stamped received" 4506-T (if you received it back like me) should be included with the transcripts to show - if the 1722 transcripts are requested - that an attempt was made through IRS for the Form 1722.

Nonetheless, I'm going to include everything that the IRS mailed back and leave it at that. We can only cross the 1722 bridge if/when it is requested. What else can we do? We followed the details that Matt received verbally on the telephone with the IRS, so if this isn't the 1722, than perhaps we are all in the dark - including the IRS.

Just remember - like Dalegg said - who said it had to be stamped? The transcripts that we received back, may well be exactly what the US Consulate in HCMC needs to see - if requested.

Join me on the positive side of the issue. It will keep us all level headed until the interview day!

The IRS does not care about my situation (or yours) and will not mail or fax or email anything to the effect, aussiewench. I have asked multiple times and the answer is always NO.

I will include the envelopes from the IRS for Anh. I will also include the letter telling me they cannot yet provide me with 2006 information. But I wonder if that last part should be withheld by Anh and only if they tell her that she has a Blue Slip because of no 2006 information can she then pull the letter out and hand it over, effectively showing them their request is invbalid. My worry is if she hands it in the morning of the interview with everything else, they might just green slip or blue slip her and wait because that is an excuse for a delay.

God, this next month is going to make me a nervous wreck.

Are you referring to 2005 information? How could you get 2006 information?

I received 2005 information with no problem. Yet I filed early in February.

Nonetheless, the letter from the IRS regarding whichever year they could not supply you with should be good for evidence of the fact.

I read back to last Summer and many here reported the Consulate demanded 2004 records that were not available and delayed the case until the transcripts were provided. Right now this really worries me.

Did the IRS say when 2005 transcript information would be available for you?

Perhaps you could make an additional quick request again and sneak it in with express mail to your fiancee before the interview?

However, I would think the letter from the IRS concerning the inability to provide 2005 information to you should be good support.

If you did not receive your 2005 tax transcript yet, I have an IRS number you can call and you can talk to a real person. This is the Tax advocate section of the IRS (1-877-777-4778). Just explain to them the date you filed, and that you need your 2005 transcript document for your fiancee interview. They may even be able to tell you about the 1722 form. I was talking to a friend of mine who works at the IRS and he was telling me about this little known group in the IRS.

If you do try this avenue for a tax transcript and learn about some additional information regarding the Form 1722, please pass it on. I'd be curious to know if the transcripts that we all requested this last time, are the actual Form 1722 transcripts that the HCMC Consulate may request.
