Prepping for the interview

Hi all,

A couple of questions about the AOS interview: first, how many photos do people generally bring? I could bring a lot but I assume they just want to see us in a variety of places/occasions, with family, etc. Obviously any sort of wedding celebrations, vacations we've taken, etc.

We don't need to bring photos from before getting the K1 visa, do we? I assume these are mainly about post-K1 relationship.

Also, I'm planning on being my husband's interpreter. If I consider myself to be truly fluent in Spanish, will that be good enough or should I bring a separate interpreter?

So is this one of those things where you show up at the time given on the notice and then end up waiting several hours or are the interview times fairly accurate?

thanks

The rule is that you can't be your husband's interpreter, you should bring a separate person with you.

About pictures - we will bring 2 photo albums: 1- our wedding, 2-pictures form our trips, with family and friends, before marriage etc.

Also I would advise showing up 30 minutes before your interview, from what I hear you usually have to wait longer then your appointment time, but I heard about people being called before their interview time as well.

Good luck! When is your interview?

Our interview is this Thursday. Would it make a big difference if our photos were not arranged in an album, but brought in in a stack? Maybe I'll just try and get them organized before then.

Thanks for the tip about the interpreter, that seems very important.

So do we have to worry about bringing any K1 documentation or can we assume that everything we bring is post-entry into the US?

Arranging them in an album may look better for you- instead of just having them in a stack. IMO, I think it shows a sense of attachment to your memories, plus its easier to keep your pics organized.
