Time frame for I751, now called CRI89

Hi all,

I'm trying to find out a time frame from when the Vermont Service

Center got our I751 now it's called CRI89 petition last December.

Still have no word yet. I looked on the site for processing times and

it looks like they are working on October of last year. Still,

I'm wondering if any of you got yours faster? Please post time frame. It's getting close to the

1 year mark and wanted to know if that's normal time to wait

Wanted to also mention, we did the fingerprints already, all that stuff came and went in normal time. But after that........nothing yet.

Hi, i am going to apply for i-751 but my lawyer said i can apply before 6 month to expration day. i was wondering that if he is right or not? i check the website its say 3 month before expration day. lawyer said if i do it with lawyer he can apply 6 month before but i cant do it myself befor 6 months before.

PLS anyone have any idea about that.

Pretty sure it's 90 days for everyone - regardless of whether you use a lawyer or not. I would get another attorney honestly with advice like that...

what happen if i appy before 3 months to i-751. like if i apply 4-5 months before to expration days to i751.

anyone have done this before.

the lawyer may want your paperwork 6 months before your card expires but he can't submit it until 90 days before your card expires. I think it is the lawyer who is adding the time for him to do the work. You really don't need a lawyer to do this step, btw - it is very easy and you will have to do 90% of the work even with the lawyer since you have to gather together all of the documents and give them to him. All he will do is copy them, fill out the basic information on the form and send it off to USCIS. You can do that just as easily as him and save yourself some money. Don't apply until 90 days before your card expires though or your application will be returned to you.

Worst case scenario is they return it to you after they deposited the check and good luck asking for a refund. Screw the lawyer , do it yourself. I've never consult a lawyer for all the steps, I-130 & I-485 concurrent and now I-751. Didn't even think about a lawyer, where do I get the money from? If you have too much money to waste, donate it to the charities, the charities need the money more than the lawyer does. Come one, I-751 is just a two pages form.

I always encourage people to fill in their timeline info so the timeline so the timeline stats can be more meaningful. Have you looked at the immigration timelines link at the top of the page?
